Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a certain Bizet-ness about them, and now it is time for you to post until the Carmen Cows come home.

I'm listening to the digital music show tunes channel (channel 936) and right now Barbra Streisand is singing "I Loves You Porgy/Porgy, I's Your Woman Now."

Now, the song "Bargaining" from the original Broadway cast recording of Do I Hear a Waltz? is on.  It's sung by Sergio Franchi and Elizabeth Allen.

I just read a review of the new 2-CD Donmar production of  Parade, and for the most part, it sounds like a positive review.  However, it's sending some mixed messages.

One sentence reads, "The results, at least insofar as they are presented...on the new cast recording, indicate that Brown, Uhry and Ashford have improved and strengthened the piece."

But then two sentences later, "The changes necessitated by the Donmar experience have not necessarily improved it."

What??  It's improved, but it's not improved??  Make up my mind, will ya?

Good morning, good morning, one and all!

And now, it's off to church to sing some Duke Ellington.

When I looked at my calendar for the month of December, I thought the inclusion of days beyond the twenty-fifth ADVENTITIOUS.

When I read BK's notes, where he stated that Carmen Jones had an all Black cast (capitalization his), I thought he meant that the film co-starred Jack Black, Karen Black, Lucas Black, Shirley Temple Black, and Johnny Cash (as the Man in Black).

RE: this Friday's GHOST WHISPERER.

SPOILERS

I also loved this week's show.  Very interesting twist (having us think the ghost was the one Jim saw in the fire/explosion). I wasn't expecting the ghost to be connected to the woman nurse/doctor instead.

The one thing i find odd though is how mad they always have these ghosts in the beginning.  And how they clearly show them doing things (turning lights on, making the woman's hands go out of control with the needle in it).

Miss Blue Moon loves this weather - it is 0 degrees with a -15 Wind Chill Factor.  She likes to walk around in the yard, and then go into her house and lie on the straw bed.

She won't come in - so I will just keep watch at the door so she knows she can be inside when she wants.  She did sleep inside last night.

From Yesterday #2

Matt Hough:

Re: Felix Leighter
David Heddison is the only actor to play the role twice and Jeffrey Wright is slated to reprise his role for a second time in the next Bond film.

Jack Lord (Felix Leighter #1) starred in his own series Stoney Burke and did not repeat the role as it was supporting role and he was a "star" now. He would work in TV guest star roles before Hawaii 5-0 came around with the exception of 2 movies right before the series began

Cec Linder (Felix Leighter #2) was a friend of Harry Saltzman's from Canada.

Rik Van Nutter (Felix Leighter #3) Broccoli and Saltzman were not the producers of this fim. Although the actor was American he worked in Italy for most of his career. Most of the other actors in major roles were from Italy as some of the money raised was from that country

Norman(n) Burton (Felix Leighter #4) Don't know why the didn't reuse him.

David Heddison (Felix Leighter #5) Live and Let Die & License To Kill and when When the Living Daylights was being filmed he was doing the tv series Another World

Bernie Casey (Felix Leighter #6) played the role in the remake of Thunderball in the "other" Bond film that came out that year Never Say Never which like the original Casino Royale is not consider part of the Bond cannon.

John Terry (Felix Leighter #7) for the next film they brought back David Heddison. When the Living Daylights was being filmed he was doing the tv series Another World

Jeffrey Wright (Felix Lighter #8) He is slated to repeat his role in the next Bond film. They wanted a fresh start and only Judi Dench repeat her role from previous films.

Oh.....how sad.

Well.....two subjects for today - your favorite (not necessarily her best) Suzanne Pleshette performances:

Rome Adventure
Youngblood Hawke
A Rage to Live

AND - worst George Hamilton performances:

I thought Two Weeks In Another Town until I saw The Victors last night.

Re: The DOOL clips

The actors playing the pere et mere Brady are different actors do them know. Were they the originals (who I believe both quit) or were they replacements for the originals who were then replaced by originals when they decided to come back?

Suzanne Pleshette was a wonderful light actress, as her years with Bob Newhart proved.  Those are my favorite Suzanne Pleshette performances, and none made me laugh as much as the series-ender of NEWHART.  "No more Japanese food before going to bed," or something similar.   :D
Sad that she has passed.
I like her very much in THE BIRDS.

Jennifer- re the ghosts on GHOST WHISPERER often being mad

SPOILER

Our thought on this has been that since they're ghosts who are in conflict that keeps them from passing, that's probably why they seem to be mad and then resolve the conflicts by the end of the show.  The ones that aren't in conflict when they die presumably don't have the unresolved business (such as the guy who really died in that fire at the beginning of the show, seems like he must have been at peace with the decision to save the other person).  My theory about the show has been that the ghost whisperer is actually visited by many ghosts, but we (the teevee audience) see the most interesting and conflicted ones on the show - I'm probably overthinking the theory behind the show's premise, though!!!

Somebody may need to go to Atlanta and chip Amy and Greg out of bed - my TV screen said "Atlanta - 18° "

Here in Rehoboth we have a sunny 24° with the breezes making the wind chill factor 11°!

. . .and though I'm not too fond of the English language version, Suzanne Pleshette provided the voice of the old woman in HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE.
