The owners of the vacant McGulag next door seemed to have turned off the heat to save a few bucks.

It has been below freezing for many days now.

It has been warm all day today.

The concrete block side of the the house is running streams of water from under the first floor siding..

I looked through the basement patio windows and saw lots of water pooling up from a stream flowing from above.

Gee could a frozen pipe have burst?

Will this affect their $659,000 asking price?

659K will get you a nice 800 sf starter home in a nasty neighborhood here in PDX.  :)

Well, this is a rural area and the development was mainly single and double wide summer-only homes. Ours was one of the first full frame, drywall interior, houses in the neighborhood. We have a mere 1300 square feet, and another 1300 st ft of unfinished walk-out basement.

The McGulag nextdoor (same size 75x200 foot lot) has a main floor with 3 bedrooms a 3.5 baths, an attic "loft" with another bedroom and bath and a walk-out basement with 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen and family room. Everybody said I was nuts to pay $32,500 for a little lot in an almost-trailer park and put up a $125,000 structure (4 years ago).
