And Jonathan Cake isn't even IN this one!?!
They sure could use a "She of the Evil Eye," though!

Hmm..

Just what was he doing with that Tonka truck, anyhow?    :P

Well, it looks like a mini-get together this evening. I just have to confirm with Amy and Greg. Sing has confirmed that we will visit and have dinner this Friday evening. I'll call Amy's cell soon to let  her in on the plans

That should have been Pet Clark 65-66.Re the Hwood Code, Altho silly in many ways(see the Day in Hollywood Tap Dance) it's amazing how much good work got done, sort of the way high hurdles makes a track runner a better runner all around(assuming he doesn't break a leg)

I can't do my taxes until next week. I don't get my W-2 form until today. I used to be able to do it from my last paycheck but that doesn't work anymore since I have pre-tax money taken out for health insurance and an SRA. It's still a simple return but I can't do it now until the last week of January. I used to be able to do it the first or second week (by phone) and I would have my refund direct deposited into my account by sometime in February.

Times have changed (and we've often rewound the clock).

DR Ben - is your employer enlightened enough to allow Ant on your health benefits package?  I thank my lucky stars every day that my employer allows this for my DH.

I was listening to Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening today on the way to work.  When it came to the John Doyle Company parody:  let's just say that if I had been drinking anything, it would have come flying out my nose.  Hilarious!!  :)

Yes, they implemented that in 2002. We are lucky indeed. If not for this Anthony would have no insurance.

Friday morning greetings!  It is teeth-chattering c-c-c-cold here in SW Ohio today.  The outside temperature indicator in my car got as low as 1o C. on my drive to work.

Media check - CD(car) - audiobook Girls of Riyadh, narrated by my favorite reader, Kate Reading (aka Jennifer Mendenhall).

DR Ginny:  since 1o C = 33.8o F, I'm assuming you meant 1o F, which is indeed bone-chilling: -17o C!

Eek.   :P

When I say today's notes' title, this immediately sprang to mind:
SUGAR MOUNTAIN - JANIS IAN

DO YOU GO DOWN ON THE SIDE OF SUGAR MOUNTAIN
WHEN LEAVES ARE BROWN
AND THE SUNLIGHT SPLITS THE SKY
I HAVE FOUND THAT THE SEA BREEZE TEARS AT THE OCEAN
AND I HOPE SOMEBODY WILL LOVE ME ‘FORE I DIE

OH WILLOW, WEEP NO MORE MY LADY
THOUGH THE DAYS ARE LONG AND LAZY
AND THE SUN SITS HEAVY ON THE SKY
WEEP NO MORE, I’M HOMEWARD BOUND
I’M GONNA TEAR THIS MOUNTAIN DOWN
YOU’RE GONNA BE SOMEBODY BYE AND BYE

SUGAR MOUNTAIN TREES ARE MADE OF CANDY
AND THE SUN DRIPS HONEY IN YOUR EYES
EVERY FOUNTAIN’S WATER TASTES LIKE BRANDY
AND I KNOW SOMEBODY WILL LOVE ME ‘FORE I DIE

OH WILLOW, WEEP NO MORE MY LADY
THOUGH THE DAYS ARE LONG AND LAZY
AND THE SUN SITS HEAVY ON THE SKY
WEEP NO MORE, I’M HOMEWARD BOUND
I’M GONNA TEAR THIS MOUNTAIN DOWN
YOU’RE GONNA BE SOMEBODY BYE AND BYE

SUGAR MOUNTAIN LOVERS TASTE LIKE HONEY
AND THEIR LIPS LIKE ELDERBERRY WINE
EVERY OTHER STRANGER PALES AND WITHERS
AND I HOPE SOMEBODY WILL LOVE ME ‘FORE I DIE

OH WILLOW, WEEP NO MORE MY LADY
THOUGH THE DAYS ARE LONG AND LAZY
AND THE SUN SITS HEAVY ON THE SKY
WEEP NO MORE, I’M HOMEWARD BOUND
I’M GONNA TEAR THIS MOUNTAIN DOWN
YOU’RE GONNA BE SOMEBODY BYE AND BYE

Yes, DR Singdaw, I meant F instead of C.  Spoo.

Will there be photos of this evening's HHW gathering around Ben & Ant's Christmas tree?

RE rock candy - my mother keeps a decanter of whiskey with rock candy dissolved in it.  Best cough syrup in the world.

Good morning!

Absolutely frigid this morning and remains so when I stepped out three hours later after getting the newspaper at 7. Very uncomfortable. I'll be bundling up when I go out on my errands later.

I won't be able to do my taxes until late March. I still don't have all the tax forms from various institutions, and my stockbroker continues adjusting the 2007 buys and sells information almost down to the last minute.

TV Reminder:

NBC's prime time slate is all new tonight (I don't watch any of those shows, but someone might).

PSYCH and MONK have new episodes on tonight as well.

I guess this wouldn't be a good time to say that we wear t-shirts this time of year, would it?

I watched two and a half episodes of JAG this morning. I have one remaining.

I thought of DR MBarnum when Peter Brown turned up as a guest star. I admit that I liked him very much too on LAWMAN.

I also had time to watch the set's sole bonus feature:

a three minute gag reel with the two top-billed stars stumbling over lines. It was amusing, but don't any of the other actors ever make mistakes? WHy focus just on them. Fans of the show like ALL of the characters and want to see ALL of them out of character.

I have to say that I have really grown very fond of the show and believe I will begin looking for used copies of the previous seasons to watch.

And the word of the day is: FOOZLE!
Since I do not play golf, I do not FOOZLE.  However, if I were a golfer, I would be one of the greatest foozelers of all time.
