Thank you Singdaw.

TPunk, enjoy your very special niece.  Your others seems more like cousins, this one an honest to goodness niece.

Vixmom, I enjoyed the Simon & Garfunkel link.  It is a shame they don’t sing together more often.

End Georgia Dog Fighting

Quote
Dog Fighting Bill Passes House Overwhelmingly
January 30, 2008

Changes may still need to be made to the language once bill moves over to the Senate, but passage through the House is another big hurdle cleared

By Jon Dunn, Best Friends Animal Society

In a 165-6 vote, Georgia’s House of Representatives agreed that dog fighting does not have safe harbor in their state. H.B. 301 has moved swiftly since the session began, first passing the house committee, then through the rules committee, and then almost before anyone noticed the bill hit the floor and was voted on and passed!

So who voted against the bill? Rep. David Lucas (D-Macon) was one of the six who decided that stronger dog fighting laws were not necessary. He claimed that the activity of dog fighting is so deep rooted in many black communities that the proposed penalties would just be excessive. "We've got over 60,000 people in the corrections system now," Lucas said. "I think we take things too far sometimes."

We got the draft of our agreement with the Village Theatre regarding the Last Starfighter Workshop.  The public  presentations, according to the contract, would be May 23-25, which is on Memorial Day weekend.     This sounds to me like a good idea in terms of trying to get full audiences.

I'm a little concerned about having to travel back home on the Monday of Memorial Day weekend, so maybe we'll try for a red-eye flight on the Sunday night rather than flying back on Memorial Day itself???

Well, be sure to book your flights sooner than later.  Airfares start getting their "summer mark-up" that weekend, and with the airlines threateing to raise the fuel surcharge again, well...  In any case...

Congrats!

Goodness, I'm sitting here and forgot to share our good news.  Bryan has been accepted into an excellent medical school.  It looks like he will be a doctor. :D

There are more interviews & more schools still to hear from before a final decision will be made.  From now on we can be more relaxed during the process.  This is really a good school, & a good match for him.

Do you have any idea how long you will be out West prior to the performances?  Although George and I will hopefully be able to see the show, we both would like to spend a little time with you outside the theater.  George may have to roll me there in a plastic bubble, but I do want to finally get a chance to meet you in person.

Is this on Carson Street?  I found a photo on city guide, but the link won't work when I post it.nice link to Brewski’s? Sorry, the usual insert won't connect-have no idea why.  You will have to highlight the entire link. ???

You can try it anyway.  LOL, I just tried it again & it worked.

... now I need a reason to favor one team over the other!

Former Michigan quarterback, Tom Brady, now New England's QB.

Richard and I were watching Jeopardy, when they broke in with

THIS STORY

We watched live as the 2 steeples collapsed and the fire was brought under control.  The church is about one block north and 2 blocks east of Rob's girlfriend's apartment.  She and Rob are on their way to Michigan, though.

TCB - Just sent you a message.  Not sure what's expected of Skip and me in terms of churning out rewrites while out there.

But I'm expecting that  we'll be "frozen" in terms of rewrites  by the weekend of the presentations, and should have plenty of time to get together on that weekend.

Ginny, loosing any of the old church is sad, at least no one was hurt.  I hope the damage can be repaired.
