Thank you Jeanne.  Of course I’ll be thinking about them until I hear some news.

Matt H, we completely agree with you regarding the jr. lawyer on Eli Stone, so much in fact we stopped recording the show.

I find that intriguing you rejected the holiday at such a young age.  I was religious and it never entered my mind, or the mind of any of my friends-just about all of whom were Jewish.  But then I, and most of them, celebrated Christmas.  I was obviously spiritually religious, not in practice. ;D

I hope DR RLP is eating bon-bons and enjoying his day off.

DR RLP has been up and about and has been futzing and cleaning and packing storage boxes and the like.  And, of course, he is now "snarking".

At last some good news from Miami University! I hope this lets my neighbors who are sick of looking at the 40 cartons outside my apartment door breathe a sigh of relief as well.  The collection of theatre/career memorabilia will indeed be going to Miami, and today things were set into motion on how the cartons will get to Oxford, OH, and what I need to do to expedite they're arriving safely.

My super, myneighbors, and, I understand, the local fire dept station are eager to see this leave the building ASAP, so hopefully, within the next week or so, it will vanish.

Get Well Vibes to DR George

Thanks, Michael.  I'm feeling a little better (just a little ::)) so I'm still at home today.  I did sleep better than the night before.  We'll see how the weekend goes.

I was just Googling myself, and discovered that there is a person with my exact name in a place called Cockermouth, UK.

Now really.

Is this some sort of cosmic commentary?   ;)

How apt!

Taking a bit of a break from the Ray Courts Hollywood Collectors Show.

So far I have had nice chats with Kathleen Hughes...

....what a delightful, fun lady! I gave her a copy of my interview with her dear friend Sara Shane.

I then went across the aisle and visited with Mr. Gregg Palmer....

...a total blast to talk to!

There there was Roberta Shore, who still looks fabulous...

And Diane Franklin, who is a sweetheart....

...and Mr. Ty Hardin who was also a lot of fun to chat with (we may be doing an interview!)...

Well... It's almost time for the singing portion of today's auditions, which means I actually have to do some "work" today instead of just watching and observing. ;)

Of course I also saw Mr. BK who indeed is sitting next to Mr. B.I.G (Bert I. Gordon, director of Attack of the Puppet People)!! Mr. Gordon was very nice and friendly, which I was very happy about as I was nervouse about meeting him...seeing as how he is my # 1 favorite director!!! But he put me at ease right away!

The last person I met and chatted with was Mr. John Saxon.......I was having someone snap a photo of the two of us together, but the batteries up and died in my camera at that very moment  >:(     So, after eating a sandwich I will scout around for some fresh batteries and try again later.

I had something of a bonanza (not the TV show) in the mail today.

Finally arriving were the Lana Turner and Tammy DVD sets.

I got four HD-DVDs in the mail: three I ordered plus one from a dear friend.

I got three review discs in the mail today including THINGS WE DID IN THE FIRE and on Blu-ray DAN IN REAL LIFE (almost a month before its scheduled release. Good grief. I won't get to it for weeks.)

I began my afternoon by watching last night's SUPERNATURAL. An excellent episode with a great showcase this week for Jared Padeleki.

Of course, I had to watch it in SD being delayed as it was. And just like the last time it was delayed, the show was 15 minutes late in beginning, but I learned from my mistake last time and had the DVR record the show after SUPERNATURAL on the cable guide, so I ended up getting to see the entire show.

It's been a real social-work kind of day here at the library - no, we don't hand out bus fare and, no, I can't tell you where you're supposed to vote (but the Board of Elections can...).

My friend and co-worker, Sue, and I spent some time today looking forward to our trip next month to Minneapolis for the Public Library Association conference.  Here are some theatre options we're considering:

Jersey Boys at the Orpheum
Jane Eyre and Third at the Guthrie
42nd Street, Respect, and The Wonder Bread Years at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre

Any insights?

Also, Sue asked me to ask folks here if anyone can recommend a travel company or website that she can use to plan a theatre trip to London.  She just wants lodging and tickets, and maybe airfare, without a lot of other package stuff.

Next, I watched WALKER, directed by Alex Cox. Ostensibly a quasi-biography of William Walker who invaded Nicaragua in 1856 (at the behest of Cornelius Vanderbilt) and set himself up as president for a couple of years until he was ousted. Of course, being made in 1987, the film really served as a satirical indictment of Reagan's policies against the Sandinistas.

Though it wasn't really meant as a historical drama, I did find the historical aspects the most interesting. The satire is very heavy handed, and all kinds of anachronisms are introduced into the film that took me out of the movie every single time.

Still, I'm glad I saw it.

I then spent most of the remainder of the afternoon watching the bonus features on the disc. There's a long documentary shot during the making of the film, and it really gives a true behind the scenes look at making the movie including complaints from the extras, seeing the stars out of character, watching the director in action and also relaxing. (This director also did REPO MAN and SID AND NANCY.)

There's also an audio diary of Miguel Sandoval (the DA on MEDIUM) who played a small part in the movie and also served as second unit director on the film.

There's also a section of behind the scenes photographs and a longer section of Polaroids taken of the actors in costume.
