Oh, and for Arnold M. Brockman - I did finish watching It's All True.  It's very interesting, and the Welles footage is great to see, but the whole thing lacks a point of view and therefore is dramatically inert, even the long edited version of one portion of the Welles film - Welles would never have cut it the way it's cut on this DVD - there's no energy or rhythm to it.

I scanned through IDOL results to see who got eliminated. Wasn't the least bit surprised at the bottom three. But there were easily three others would could have replaced the three that were there.

LAW & ORDER had a good episode with Lara Flynn Boyle (what has she done to her lips?) as a scheming reporter playing every man in sight to get what she wanted. Good performance, particularly with the grand jury.

I have cued up THE SMILING LIEUTENANT to watch tomorrow afternoon after I get in from lunch. (That is, if no review discs come in the mail tomorrow).

As for "Idol"... Well.... They have to go sometime.  However, one of the girls who was up for elimination actually sang her song better tonight.  Last night, I thought she was off a half-beat the whole time.  It was really strange-sounding to my ears.

Now, where was I?

Oh, yes.  During my lunch break, one of the gals from the bakery came up and handed me a phone number.

Not her own.

It was from one of the women who works with the cat rescue group that der B and I let take J.J.

Word is, J.J. has probably found a good home.  At least there has been no negative feedback.

But der B and I had indicated that we would be interested in fostering other dogs, if needed.  And we're needed!

Nothing is definate yet, so I'll leave it at that.  But der B will be meeting the dogs (yes, two!) tomorrow, and there's a chance that I'll come home from work tomorrow afternoon and meet two more noses!

And with that, I'm signing off.

And due to the "large number of e-mails and phone calls"*, "American Idol" will be featuring the songs of Lennon & McCartney again next week.  WOO-HOO!

*Yeah, right.  I'm guessing they just want to get their money's worth from the usage/royalty fees.

**And group medley tonight was a TOTAL joke. Bad arrangements, bad singing, bad choreography - and some contestants who were obviously not comfortable moving their feet and singing at the same time.

As for tonight's premiere of "Top Chef: Chicago"...

Looks like it will be a pretty good season.  It looks like the producers have upped the "ringers" for this season of competition.  -I'm actually familiar with the cooking of at least three of the competitors.  However, the producers have also seemed to let in a wild card or two who lack some serious culinary skills and credentials.

I listened to about 10 seconds of the "group sing" tonight and then skipped the rest of it. What a horror!

And since I've actually been up since 7:30 this morning... And since I'll be playing for the head of Disney Theatrical tomorrow...

Goodnight.

I am probably the only still watching BIG BROTHER 9, but I must say that it is getting fun, now that I have gotten to know the contestants a bit better.

I just adore Natalie! And when she returns to Salem I hope I someday run into her. She's not too bright, but she just cracks me up.

Did I ever tell you about the gay hotel clerk and my father-in-law?

Oh, gosh. Is it anything like the story of The Randy Vicar and the Drain Pipe? I sure hope not!

I'm feeling pretty beat right now.  I had my alarm set for eight AM, but the phone rang at six-thirty, asking me to come in early and put in extra hours (one of my co-workers had called out, apparently really feeling punk).

And I've got a five AM alarm for tomorrow, so I'd better sign off.

BUT NOT BEFORE....

I've got a 5 AM alarm tomorrow too!  Finally packed, dishes washed, food and meds for cats on the counter, note regarding how to feed and medicate cats on the counter....e-ticket is printed - (I like to check in at the airport). So I think I'll go to bed so I can get some sleep before getting up and running out in the morning.

Night!

Great News Woody.  I'm sure JJ will lead a life filled with love and your rescue helped make that possible.

Natalie is Cheri Oteri incognito!

Natalie is also a sneaking conniving bee-atch.  That's something she's fond of accusing others of being, and she's equally guilty of it.

Sheila is THE player right now.   The l-i-e-s she has told.....my conscience!  She'd better hope that game play doesn't get written down in you-know-WHO's little book and come back to haunt her on doomsday!

You made the coat and vest fit the best!
You made the lining nice and strong!
But Sam, you made the pants too long!

You made the peak lapel look so swell!
So who am I to say you're wrong?
But Sam, you made the pants too long!

They got a belt and they got suspenders,
So what can they lose?
But what good are belts and suspenders
When the pants are hanging over the shoes?

You feel a winter breeze up and down the knees,
The belt is where the tie belongs!
'Cause Sam! Sam! Sam! You made the pants too long!
