I'm probably doing something wrong. But you know, the front page of www.haineshisway.com is still the "I'm Still Here" column. I did try refreshing the page. Hmmmm.

Favorite TV theme songs with lyrics:  the themes to Gilligan's Island, The Brady Bunch and Cheers. :)

I never really liked the M*A*S*H theme song.  I don't know why...it just wasn't the kind of song I was interested in.  But I love the others you've listed.

Did you ever hear the vocal version, from the movie?

Here is a pretty version.

I have heard the vocal version from the TV show, but not this.  It is nice.  I think the reason that I didn't like it was because of the lyrics and especially the line, "Suicide is painless."  I was very young when I first heard it and just didn't understand any of it.  I mean, what did it all mean??  This is a show about doctors in Korea.  Who is killing him-(or her)-self??

And speaking of "Gilligan's Island," click HERE for the original unaired pilot version!  I think it's been posted here before, but if it has, it's been a while. :)

You obviously didn't see the film. The song is referencing one of the movie's subplots.

In the Robert Altman film, the 4077th unit's dentist is known as the Painless Pole (played by John Schuck). He's a ladies' man type who experiences one night of inexplicable impotence. He jumps to the conclusion that he must be gay, so he wants to kill himself. The other doctors agree to help him commit suicide, but in secret, they conspire to save his life. The succeed, and Painless doesn't commit suicide. Suicide is painless -- get it?

What, no Beverly Hillbillies: Ballad of Jed Clampett

Or:

Green acres is the place to be.
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

You're right...I never did see the movie.  That does make sense in context.

I'm not a Bollywood fan, but for some reason, I did see Bombay Dreams in London in 2002. The only thing I recall about it was that it had very colorful sets and costumes.

And that it had absolutely nothing to do with Dollywood, the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee-based theme park.
