My first cop show was also Boston Blackie - on the radio!

We didn't own a TV when Dragnet first came out.

Apple Brown Betty was a staple at our school cafeterias (and also a regular at the Automat).

It is best when served vanilla ice cream.

DR Jane - THIS is the salad dressing I ended up making.  It was tangy and delicious, though I'd prefer it didn't contain the sugar!

Does Wild Wild West count as a cop show?

If not..............

Then it would be Adam 12 or Dragnet

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I actually slept rather well last night - I believe my impromptu three-mile afternoon walk may have had something to with that - and I happened to wake up before my alarm.  I guess I'm going through my "morning person" phase.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Were "Starsky & Hutch" cops?  -I just always remember that one clip of them - that ended up in their opening credits - of one of them standing in the sun-roof of the car in their underwear.  ;)  Otherwise...

"Cop Rock" - ::)
"Hill Street Blues"

DR Jane - THIS is the salad dressing I ended up making.  It was tangy and delicious, though I'd prefer it didn't contain the sugar!

DR singdaw - Salad dressings are very forgiving.  Next time - and there will be a next time - leave out the sugar - and the salt - during your initial mix and whisk.  Taste it, and then season from there.  The parmesan cheese and the ketchup may give you enough salty flavor on their own, and the ketchup and balsamic will also contribute some sweetness.  If it still does need a bit of either component, add it accordingly.  If you'd rather not use (white) sugar, you can use turbinado, honey, maybe even maple syrup (sparingly!).

Personally, I prefer my salad dressings on the vinegary side, otherwise, it seems like I just poured some dessert topping on my mesclun.  Also keep in mind, that a lot of classic salad dressing recipes are over-seasoned on purpose since they're usually served chilled, and the cold mutes the flavors.

As for Apple Brown Betty...

Hmm... :)

And then there are all the very close relatives of "Betty": Crumble, Cobbler, Crisp, Buckle (usually with berries), etc., etc., etc.

And speaking of oatmeal, I have to clean my bowl and the pot I cooked it in.  And then it will be time for me to head in for today's round of "Untitled" auditions.  I'm seeing Cry Baby tonight, so I may end up being E&T for most of today - since there's no internet access at the Equity Building.  I hope everyone has a wonderful penultimate Monday of March!

DR FJL I just looked at the Phoenix production history and I don't see HERRINGBONE listed, I don't know what show I am thinking of, but it sounded like HERRINGBONE in the reviews....now I can't find a title that makes me remember anything...oh well....last night I dreamed I was doing SINGIN' IN THE RAIN there, so who knows what's going on.

Good morning, all! I may have turned off the lights at 11:10 but between the neighbor above me, the noisy students hanging out on the steps of the church across the street, and other noises, I wasn't unconcscious before 12:30. I am not happy about this.

Today, I have a trek to MTI to look at some scores, and that should take up most of my late morning and early afternoon.  Beyond that, who knows?
