After my long day yesterday, I decided to take it easy this morning.  I've FedEx-ed a box of stuff from vendors and will soon make my way to the Minneapolis Central Library for a meeting of other nonprofit outreach librarians.

People are waiting for the computers here in the hotel business center and I have more manners than the women hogging the other 2.

Bye for now!

It's honest-to-goodness snowing here in Portland, OR!  Like, actually sticking to the ground and everything.

Good Afternoon!

Well... It's still a bit slow here today at The Untitled Gershwin Project auditions.  -Consequently, I've gone ahead and texted a bunch of friends, who if they happen to have the afternoon free, I wouldn't love seeing.  ;)

TOD - Yesterday was the band rehearsal AND sing through for Little Shop of Horrors today (and probably this weekend) my listening will be classical as I'm working on getting my hearing back.  It's about this time I long for an acoustic show.

Is your Freudian slip showing, or am I just hopelessly unironic today?

Will Paul Giamatti Play Karl Rove in Oliver Stone's Bush Movie?

Oliver Stone’s sort-of anticipated film W., about George W. Bush, announced two new cast members today: James Cromwell as George H.W. Bush and Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush. (We were hoping for Dame Edna, alas.) They join Josh Brolin as W. and Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush. But we’ll throw one more legitimate candidate into the mix: Paul Giamatti is in talks with Oliver Stone about a role in the film.

George W. Bush = Josh Brolin

Laura Bush = Elizabeth Banks

George HW Bush = James Cromwell

Barbara Bush = Ellyn Burstyn

Whew! On Monday I thought there were two appointments/hearings on my calendar this week.  By Tuesday, that number had become 18!!   It's been crazy, but I just finished the last one, so here I am at noon on Friday and I finally have time to get some work done, lol.  It's wonderful to be this busy.  Insane, but wonderful

Tomovoz, yes-strange book.  I enjoyed the first half, before it deteriorates.  And what the heck was the deal with the Riders?  I went in search of reviews and discussions & didn’t gain any insight.

Thanks for the warning on DirtMusic.  I prefer to read books that so someplace, no matter how beautifully they are written

Tonight I'm taking tickets for a showing of The Final Season http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449018/  it was filmed in Iowa. During the filming a helicopter crashed killing the cinematographer.  The movie is the true story of the 1991 Norway Iowa High School baseball team's attempt to win a 20th consecutive state title before their school merged with a larger district nearby.

I've heard it's a good movie and the film makers will be here to discuss it afterwards.  For being a ticket taker, I get a free t-shirt. Cool.

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers. You know it is going to be a long day when you wake up tired.

I know what you mean, I'm on day two of waking up tired.  It wasn't enough and my dreams were disturbing.  On the plus side Sherlock was super cuddly, not such a bad way to loose sleep.

I've been waking up tired from being so busy this week. Luckily all of that is done and now I seem to be waking up.  That's a good thing. This weekend I have ticket taking and probably a get together with Paul's out of town friends. Tomorrow is both our short film festival and Paul's opening plus an after party at a studio with Paul's work that was too racy for the Art Center

Oh, and my parents are really going to stay with me on either Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday night on their way home. The house is a mess again and I have no idea when I'll clean. Plus I have a bunch of work to do at the office....I just love this chaos!

Good morning good day, how are you this beautiful day.  I'm up, and got a pretty good night's sleep, too.  I got up around nine-forty-five, was reading the posts when I clicked on the OOB link in Ben's post via AOL - that crashed AOL which then crashed Safari, so I had to restart.  While waiting, I went to the piano and did some work, and now I am back.

I rewrote the music to another of the Nudie songs that I'd written for the stage version - a ballad for the leading man toward the end of the show - I just hated what I'd written.  I'll live with what I just did for a couple of days, but for now it's much better.  Unfortunately, the new tune requires a lot of lyric rewriting.

Yet another house showing, so I had to split. I now have the house to myself again--at least until the next call.

If the intent was to embarrass the Clinton campaign, it was a brilliant question.

And any news mention of Monica re-enforces Hillary's negatives in the public mind - and her campaign is already on life-support.

der Bruce

The reporter claims to be a Clinton supporter and expected his question to be an opportunity for Chelsea to comment on her mother's strengths.

I think it's outrageous to be asking a child about a parent's reaction to the other parent cheating.

So true, except the question was if she thought it would hurt her mother politically.  I don't think that question has anything to do with what kind of president Hillary would make.  Nor do I see it as a personal question directed at Chelsea's feelings about the situation and why I don't feel "none of your business" was an appropriate answer to the question.
