$120 top ticket?  Do they just raise these prices higher every time there's a new hit?  It's really ridiculous.

I shall have to de-groggify quickly and get a couple of errands done.

I did see a couple of caterpillars on the passionvine.

And the calla lilies are in bloom again.

Good morning, good day, how are you this beautiful day?  I am up after a very good night's sleep.

Good morning! Good day! How are you this radiant day?

But have the cars been parked in Harvard Yard?

Undoubtedly.  But the prices are higher now.

re: AMERICAN IDOL EXTRAS

It's a syndicated show, and I can't remember which channel(s) it pops up on here stateside.  It is an interesting show.  They cover not only the people who made the finals, but also some of the more memorable auditionees.  It's actually sort of well put together, and there's no sense of condescension or mean-ness either.

The weirdest part for me is that i have watched every season of IDOL but have never heard of this show. How would anyone even know it existed?

Who remembers where they were 40 years ago today?

I was a senior in a Detroit high school.  The city was still reeling from the riots of 1967 and some incidents occurred over the next several days.

It was one month and one day before my second birthday. :)

I would have bet money that adam would have nominated sharon and james. That is what i thought he should do. But he did not. He nominated sharon and sheila. It seems like it happened in a really odd way (i forget if i posted any of this yesterday, i think maybe just the noms?). Anyhow i believe adam was prepared to nominate james. But then james started crying. And adam agreed not to nominate him (only if he would not use the veto if he wins it).

Now the interesting part here is that adam is easily swayed. And the diary room made sure to call natalie into there so she could not talk to adam before he made the nominations. I really think that adam is an idiot. Not so much because he did not nominate james. But if james wins the veto and he takes sharon off the block (which he told adam he would not do) then adam will have to have one of his alliance members voted off. I really think this would be james' best move. But i will not be happy if this happens. IT's too bad if james goes against his word that natalie will most likely suffer. I would rather that adam be booted. Anyhow with a double eviction coming up things will change rapidly!

DR George - I was reading at Amazon regarding the books you posted about last evening.  My, the culture wars continue there unabated, eh?    :P   Too bad these people can't channel their zeal and energy into something more positive and productive.

You'd think (and I always hope) that people would have much, much, much (that's three muches) more important things to worry about than who people fall in love with or have sex with. >:(

So, I'm guessing that SOUTH PACIFIC is now the unqualified favorite to win the Best Revival Tony (over SUNDAY IN THE PARK and (shudder) GREASE)....

It all depends on how the voters feel about GYPSY!

I wonder if Gypsy might have less of a chance because of the revival only five years ago.  Even though it was a completely different production, it was still the same show. :-\

So, today I received most of the nice e-mail I was waiting for - it was actually sent two days ago and for some reason never arrived (very unusual with gmail).  It finally appears as if all is well (those who made a certain preorder a couple of weeks ago know from whence I speak), and an official announcement will be made Monday or Tuesday and a certain website will have said announcement and people will be happy and be able to order a title they might very much like to have.  And that's the most current news I have.

You know, two days this week my mailman did not come...I had better get some stuff in the mail today, 'cause gosh knows I have many ebay items winging their way to me.

I did not get any mail today. I was NOT a happy person.

The rains have held off, but so did the sun. It didn't get anywhere near as warm as they predicted. I had to wear a heavy jacket while running my errands, and I had to turn the heat on in the house.

I began my afternoon of viewing with last night's CSI. A pretty interesting case and a pretty neat surprise ending I didn't see coming. The business of several guys on the staff having the flu seemed rather pointless.

Next I finished KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. Long, heavy, sad. Not the feel-good movie of its year, for sure. I didn't much care for Orlando Bloom in the leading role either. He didn't quite have the presence here that he needed to carry such a mammoth epic film about the Crusades.

To get in a better mood, I watched ICE AGE-THE MELTDOWN on Blu-ray. Looked wonderful, of course, as most CGI animation does in HD. And the DTS-HD Master Audio track was another stupendous production. A nice voice cast: Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah. It made me laugh in several places.

How wonderful to be 70+ and not have a wrinkle on your face!

(With that much botox, however, I am surprised she was able to open her mouth for the photograph.)

I thought I'd revisit another favorite film of the past, so I picked THE MIRROR CRACK'D (Angela Lansbury version).

I haven't watched this in a long time. It's my least favorite of the Agatha Christie series produced by Lord Braborne, and yet it's still a lot of fun.

And I ended the afternoon skimming through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yep, the boys were on (along with Emeera and Luke's faux-boy friend).

They were not featured in the previews for next week.
