All my bookcases and CD shelves are securely bolted to the wall now.

Thanks JRand, yup those wonderful miracle stories keep ones hope up.  I have no idea how far away the dog trainer lived.  Fletcher does have a microchip, I'm not sure he was wearing his collar.

I have about 2300 songs on Ye Olde iPod.

I'm guessing there's a healthy slice of bossa nova.

I think there's about two days' worth of Bossa Nova.  The entire output of French film composer Philippe Rombi, too.  Lots of Bill Evans.  The complete output of Guy Haines.  Recordings of some of my 70s material.  Tons of Johnny Mandel.

JMK, are you doing anything special or just staying home, enjoying your beautiful new kitchen & calling it part of your anniversary gift to each other. :)

We actually both had completely forgotten about it until last night, so we don't have anything special planned.  I have to work tonight anyway.  But we'll have a date out probably in the next week, hopefully before Betsy's parents go back to Wisconsin, so that we can have free baby-sitting.  ;)

And what do you tell her?

Wait.   Maybe we're better off not knowing.     :)

The truth is usually the best policy, as she is able to read quite clearly over my shoulder.   ;D

I skipped my hiking group hike this morning & got a good amount of work done around here.  Now I'm taking Sherlock to doggie day care (he get to play with other dogs) while I walk the trail behind the kennel.

It is good for him to adjust to being left for short periods, just in case we ever take a trip.

Good Afternoon!

It's gorgeous here today in New York City!  Gorgeous!

I just back from a "playdate" with my friend, Chris, and his 19-month old son, Henry.  -What a cutie this kid continues to be!  We spent about an hour in one of the small parks in Central Park.  I learned that Henry does not like slides, but he loves swing sets.  I also got filled in on some of the happenings from the most recent Rosie cruise - Henry and his two dads went on it a few weeks ago.  Apparently, Henry loved holding court, and sort of got bored once he was off the boat since he didn't have his admirers surrounding him all the time.  ;)

DR Jane -  is Sherlock ever left at home alone for short periods, or does he usually go with you on your errands?

Zach has to stay home alone all day while both of us are at work.  :(  Fortunately, we have a fabulous dog walker who comes in half way through the day weekdays to walk him, play with him, and give him treats and a brushing.

The above photos from DR JOSE shows that Zach in ACL is indeed in fine fettle.  8)

Hmm... I don't think it was I who posted said photos.  Maybe DR singdaw, perhaps?  In any case... The photos that are out there now are from last Friday's rehearsal - when no one, including, Mario, was in costume.  -He did wear his show shoes, however.  I'm wondering if they'll at least get a pic of him in his finale costume, but, then again, that covers up too much skin.  ;)

And, for that matter, where is Sean Young?   DR SY hasn't checked in in a while.

To HHW, that is.   ;)

I saw oh so very much of Sean Young the other night on a re-run of "No Way Out".

I gotta tell you.  Listening to Alfred Newman's wonderful score to The Counterfeit Traitor, which someone made an illegal CD of many years ago - taken from the isolated score on the laserdisc.  It doesn't sound all that good - I'll be one could make an incredible sounding CD if one had the original tapes and a pair of ears, something the person who mixed the score for the laserdisc clearly didn't have (the ears part).

As for BB, i hope natalie stays. It will be interesting. I guess i should check to see if they changed their minds again! If they do want natalie to go, then i pray that they split the vote and cause sheila to break the tie! :)

My hope is that Sharon goes. I just really don't care for her. Actually, I would love for Sheila to leave...but since she isn't in the hot seat this week, I guess that won't happen.

Of course there were a few times that I was hoping that Natalie would get voted off...sometimes she is a tiny bit embarrassing to us Salemites  :-X

Don'y you mean "National Library and Homeless Daycare Week"?

der Brucer

Well, there is that.

At my midday meeting, I sat next to an AmeriCorps volunteer who's assigned to one of our downtown homeless facilities.  She lives in a loft apartment across the street from the library and told me that she's spend a lot more time here, but she doesn't like running into her clients when she's off-duty.
