Back from a matinee.  The performance was fine, save for a few too many forgotten lines by the Brain (one never knows from performance to performance whether will get all of the lines - would it were not so).   We had a nice full house, but the sound was very distorted today, for reasons no one seems to be able to explain (since all was well last night).  It will be scoped out this week.  I think the weird sound put the audience in the wrong frame of mind and although they enjoyed it and laughed it would have been much closer to what we've been getting if it hadn't had all that distortion, which is most unpleasant on the ear.  Then I picked up some Thai food to go and am now happily sitting on my couch like so much fish watching a motion picture on DVD, after which I shall perhaps watch another motion picture on DVD.

Tomorrow is of course Cinco de Mayo!!!  The day of the dead.....

Which reminds me of an exchange between Ethel Merman and Warren Hymer in KID MILLIONS.

Hymer: (looking at the newspaper) Hey remember that guy who was pretending to be your husband in Atlantic City?

Ethel: Yeah, what about him.

Hymer:  He's dead.

Ethel:  I coulda told you that in Atlantic City.

I'm also back from seeing In The Heights...

Calor!  Calor!!  Calor!!!!

Pacienza y Fe!

...What an amazing evening of theatre.  Yes, as "everyone" has mentioned, the book still has some "improbabilities", but the show has CÓRAZON[/] in spades!  And I had forgotten that a couple of people from my "theatrical past" were in the show - It's always nice to admire and witness their growth and success.

And, yes, I happened to run into DR Cillaliz at Amy's Bread after getting out of Glory Days.  Small world!

*DR Cillaliz - The Monkey Cake is pretty shelf-stable.  As long as the room is cool-ish, it should be fine for consumption in the morning.

Some DR used the word zaftig the other day.  I had been meaning to look it up, and just remembered.  I had always thought, for some reason, that it meant the equivalent of meshugunah.

Boy, was I misinformed!   :)

Well you've only had a few episodes so far for Season 2, right?

I'm assuming that what is airing here on the movie network is airing the same time in the US. I think my sis has recorded maybe 5 or 6 episodes so far (not sure of the exact amount).

Btw, i just watched part 1 of the Season 1 finale (that airs tonight on CBS). Wow!

No, DR Jennifer, the second season of DEXTER finished months ago.

I finished BROADWAY MELODY of 1936. Very enjoyable musical numbers. Nice to see Roger Edens playing the piano in two scenes.

While waiting for my prime time shows, I watched the last half hour of SABRINA (1954) on TCM. I have the movie on DVD but haven't watched it in a long time. Obviously I never saw it during its original theatrical release, but after MY FAIR LADY became a big hit, Paramount re-released a double bill of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S and SABRINA, and that's the first time I saw it. (It came on Saturday Night at the Movies some months after I saw it at a theater.)

COLD CASE had one of the easiest mysteries to solve it's had in its four year history. Boy, the actor-detectives really have to play stupid for awhile before they finally are allowed to latch onto clues to lead to the guilty party.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. . . .

Oh, that nasty little monster Kayla. I've despised her since she and her insane mother were introduced into the show last season. Ugh, she makes my skin crawl.

However, the ever-beautiful presence of Richard Burgi made the show very agreeable despite the nastiness that is Kayla. Oh, I wish he'd come back as a regular.

Nice to see the gay couple back as well, even if they were only in a couple of scenes.

BROTHERS & SISTERS. . . .

Wonderful confrontations - an hour of them. The car scene with Saul and Kevin was heartrending as was the proposal at the end.

Poor Rebecca has been thrown out of both homes. Can't wait to see what happens with her. I hope nothing desperate.

I decided that unless i get some pressing Blu-ray disc that needs immediate critical attention, I'll take tomorrow off to watch what I want in the afternoon and evening.

I'm two episodes away from finishing the PSYCH box set, and there are other DVDs/Blu-rays/HD-DVDs waiting there to be watched.

Have no writing to do, so I guess I'll just close up shop and head downstairs to bed.

Good night!

Well, we had an interesting worship service today. Our guest speaker fell early this morning and broke his ankle (a DR Kerry reference), so we were left without a speaker.

Luckily, our new minister begins preaching next Sunday.

Well, tomorrow is going to be quite the crazy day for me.  I'm hoping to get up early enough to get to the gym and get my hair cut.  Then I have a small set of Grease auditions, followed by a session for the Disney Cruise Line.  Then I'm meeting my parents and their friends who are coming in tomorrow night to see either Chicago or The Phantom of the Opera.  Then a friend of mine has a cabaret act going up tomorrow night...  Etc., etc., etc...  WHEW!
