The Key of "C" is good.....that is what key my audition sheet music is in....that always helps.

Hmmm....cannot discover the amusing thing about the two covers, I see lots of trees....now I am trying to remember everything in the book.

Hmmmmmmm.....off to rehearsal.....BLOCKING Act One...

Everyone, thank you for all the vibes!

Jo and I have ridden down to Elk Creek and hung up a hummingbird feeder, and whatever she's making - chicken and noodles, I believe - for dinner smells scrumptious!

I think I have a copy.  Somewhere.   I think.

Yikes!  I have the vinyl album and copy of the CD...not the same value, I'm sure. ;)

I was just about to mention this...the weekend is cooking to be a very busy one for me and it looks like I will be unable to attend the HHW Washington festivities :(

Darn...I'm sure that there will be a next time, though. :)

From what I read in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, the top four IDOL CD sellers are (in order) Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, and Daughtry. None of the others come close.

I have it, too, and I believe I bought it in a bargain bin decades ago.

But remember, that's what they're available for...it doesn't mean that they're actually being sold.  And I can't imagine that they will ever sell at those prices.

I began my afternoon of viewing by finishing up MY NAME IS EARL. I had watched half of it last week, enjoyed it, but didn't feel pressed to see the last half hour. However, I did watch it today and found it very funny. An excellent season finale to be able to set things up well for next season.

Next, I rewatched last night's IDOL. Funny, they all dumped on the quality of David Archuleta's song "In This Moment" as not being a great song. Well, I loved it. Not just his rendition but the song itself had a very aching melodic line with some of the same intensity of "Unchained Melody." His singing of it was truly sublime: soaring in the right places and then quiet before building to that monster climax with the hugely sustained last two words with such control.

Next, I watched the blu-ray of BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD. How did this movie not get included in the year end awards? Crisp, expert direction, searing performances from the entire cast (those people will haunt me for weeks now), and a story put together with such labyrinthine cleverness.

I *LOVED* it!

Next, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Silly argument between the always clueless Noah and the knowing Luke.

I guess they have to argue; there would be no drama otherwise.

They were not in the previews for tomorrow.

To finish up the afternoon, I took a page from yesterday's TOD and put on the MISS MARPLE film MURDER SHE SAID. I got about 40 minutes of it watched, so I'll be able to finish it when I go back down and still have plenty of time to do THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, another Blu-ray disc.

You're gonna LOVE it, I'm willing to bet!  No, it's not a "great" movie, but it's fun, fun, fun and has winning performances, a scary premise and some spectacular effects.  Very nice underscore, too.

It upconverts spectacularly, so the Blu-ray will surely be d-a-z-z-l-i-n-g!

I believe that's in line with my comments.  I knew Clarkson and Underwood had outsold Aiken in CDs, but I think he's made his filthy lucre in concert appearances.

More power to 'em all.  And may Elliot Yamin and Melinda Doolittle soon join them.

It's actually sung after Mikey mistakingly picks up a terrorist who ineptly bombs my apartment, leading to the Act One curtain where I evict him.

I am now in Ohio! All quiet on the Western Front.

So far.

It's actually sung twice in the second act, subtitled "He Said - He Said".  First, Mike tells his new friends about his experience visiting and staying on Larry's fire escape and then sings his song to explain that, because his lifelong search for a soulmate ended when he met his Sikh, he had to cut his visit with Larry short after Larry read him the riot act over his leaving his Sikh's unwrapped turban draped over Larry's sofa.

Next, Larry recounts to a gathering of his friends his experience as related above and gives a rendition of the song told from the viewpoint of someone who couldn't quite get the houseguest and his be-turbaned one-night-stand out quickly enough.

I guess I'll head down now to see if the UPS man left anything. (I saw him drive by about 15 minutes ago.) Then, it's back to Margaret Rutherford's indelible Jane Marple.

A certain DR certainly is doing a lot of "Swingin' the Jinx Away."  :)

Especially since the song is from Born to Dance.

And even more especially since this DR consistently insists on not bein' asked to dance!   :D
