DB was the radio station my parents tuned in to when I was a child.

I got TWO Criterion discs in the mail today, but I'll filed them into the queue. I will do one of them tomorrow and the other more than likely Thursday or Friday.

I began my afternoon by watching the one hour PBS documentary on Muhammad Ali's years in Miami, basically 1960-1968. Having lived through this and with my father being a devout fan of Clay/Ali, most of this was old news to me, but I was surprised about the relationship/falling out between Ali and Malcolm X.

The documentary only ran 54 minutes.

Long Beach and Burbank are small(!!!!) airports, so their security screening lines will never be that long... even when they are "long".  Long Beach has eight gates, Burbank has 14 gates.  JFK has nine terminals, and 100+ gates.

*The security lines at ATL normally take anywhere from 45-60 minutes - and that's during the non-rush hour periods.

These are very large compared to our Medford International Airport.  Our security lines are usually short.  A somewhat long line can be 20 minutes.  We rarely have 45 minute lines.

Sorry, DR MBarnum. It is there, but it continues to wait along with dozens and dozens of other DVDs. No, when I watch it, I'll watch the whole thing. Believe me, I'll talk about it once I get around to watching it. But looks like I'm not going to have a free evening again for awhile, and those FORBIDDEN HOLLYWOOD films had been burning a hole in my counter and that's why I watched A FREE SOUL last night.

My car is now in the staff parking lot, where (usually) I'm allowed to park only after 5pm and on weekends.  However, since neither of my department's managers' spaces are occupied this week, I convinced their boss to let me use one of them.

The young man who helped me move my computer about a year ago just moved my car.  It's now about 20 paces from the door.

Next I watched the bonus features on the ALI disc. This included a PBS preview of the show (3 minutes) and a 29 minute conversation with the two producers talking about their mounting of the film.

Then, I watched some WILL & GRACE episodes to try to go ahead and finish the last disc in the season 7 set. (There are two episodes left which I should be able to get to tonight).

One had a deluge of guest stars in one episode: Debbie Reynolds, Alan Arkin, and Lee Majors (who's had massive face work done and hardly looks like himself any more).

In another Jack goes back to his acting class only to find that it's now being taught by Stacy Keach. The lead female acting student is played by the actress who now plays "new" Christine on OLD CHRISTINE.

Keith's surgery went well.

The doctor warned him not to be disappointed if the vision in this eye is not immediately as good as the right eye was.  Apparently the immediate & fantastic results of the right eye are not the norm.  Of course he wants his eyes to have the same vision, or close to the same.  And in spite of the warning he is nervous.

Ginny - That's the closing night.  I have a ticket for that night, so I'll most likely be there.  Of course, Skip will be there, since he's playing the piano.

We're looking forward to it, DR FJL, and were so glad that the run coincided with our stay in NYC.
