Well... It looks like we're having a dinner party.

My roommate, Jim, invited some friends over.  He had planned to make some pasta, but mentioned that he wasn't sure he'd have enough to feed everyone.  Well, since I had bought a couple of chicken leg quarters this morning - and since it turned out there were five in the package instead of the usual four, well...  After a short marinade - with LOTS of garlic - they are now baking away in the oven, and Jim is about to start making his pasta.

*And we started off the evening with some strawberry daiquiris!  :)

Also at St. Vincent DePaul I found these two fantastic 50s lamps...perfect color for my bedroom and living room (one will be in each room). $8 and in perfect condition...I love the shades!

LOL, DR MBarnum.  Neither had DH Richard - from me, anyway.

 ;D

Not only were you in great pain, I'm sure you were very scared.  I hope your foot is ok.

One more St Vincent DePaul find....and to think I almost didn't stop there during my errands yesterday...a very, very nice leather fedora (I find hats of this sort to make a man look extremely attractive!). Inside is says "Genuine Leather Buftex Process" and the size is 7 5/8s. It still has the original store price tag on it so I am guessing it was never worn. It is a bit too big for my head, but it was only 99 cents...good Ebay item.

I only had two meals in NY last week - a great one at FJL and Skip's, and then one at Joe Allen.

My other find brings back such memories of my childhood...Bosco and I were taking our walk today and passed a garage sale over on Center St. Amongs many interesting items was this nifty transistor radio in excellent condition (just a bit of dirt I need to clean off the front). Only $4. Can't decide if it is to go on Ebay or to keep...I just love it! And it works still!

Did any DRs have one of these?

I wear them on occasion...but I am always worried that I will spill food on them, so I don't wear them as often as I would like. My friend Jim keep covets them, mightily, but I could never part with 'em.

My best find at a thrift store, as I think I may have mentioned before, was last year finding 3 unopened 1960s Aurora movie monster model kits, still in their plastic wrapping around the boxes. Just 99 cents each!!! They were amongst the Halloween items at Value Village thrift store...sold them all on ebay which paid for my trip to Los Angeles and my wide screen tv!

I don't expect I will ever find bargains like that again...but who knows!

Well, now to finish, or not, this Spaghetti western...it is fun to see Mickey Hargitay and Gordon Mitchell working together (they stayed friends up until Gordon's death a couple of years ago)...but I am not really in the mood for Italian.

Thanks, DRs Jose and Jane, for the foot vibes.  I think it's fine, but I'm going to take some Tylenol before bed, just in case.

The good news is that I found what I was looking for in the candle drawer.

For those who don't read All that Chat:  have we discussed this Liz Smith column about the Rodgers & Hammerstein music publishing business putting itself up for sale?

What's that old punchline:  I don't wear this robe every day, it's just for'n'occasion.

It's so fun to be watching Design Star and not be thinking about what I have to get ready to do in the morning for the trial

So, what do you do, DR Cillaliz?  Just go wait in your office for a call that the jury's back?  Or is that just how it happens on TV?

How many of the DICK & JANE series have you read now, Mr. Barnum?

If there were an HHW picture dictionary, under your photo, one of many options would be kitsch.
