Back from lunch, which turned out to be an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern, Tex-Mex and Southern food. I ate well. The kids ate well, and only of them threw a tantrum.

bk - I think it could be quite the eye-opening "experiment" for you if you headed to a supermarket one day - when it's not too busy - and walked up and down each aisle and took notice of what was on the shelves now. I have a feeling you may find some new favorites, as well as discover some old ones that have been repackaged for "today's consumers".

It's bad enough to be feeling poorly, but the aggravation factor of the last two jerk singers who seem either incapable or unwilling to pay for the work I've done have me thoroughly enraged: Tomorrow is four weeks after the Daniel Rodriguez concert and I'm still waiting for payment for the work I did for the concert, which was turned in four weeks before that. Kip Wilborn has neither responded nor acknowledged that he's received my invoice for the last job, and I'm getting really pissed really fast.

This is not a good day.

Was Wilborn to pay you personally or was it through his management? I'll gladly send them a poopy e-mail telling them they should PAY the people who make them shine.

Btw, re: MattH's comments about CAMP ROCK. It changes my opinion to know you really liked the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALS (i had originally thought that you just thought they were done better). I didn't mean to discount your opinions (since i really cannot stand when people think their opinion is the only one that is right).

I do still think that it probably hit the mark for the tweens and teens who love the jonas brothers. I know my 13 year old niece loves them (the jonas brothers) and the movie.

I have been watching the Olympics every night, since that is when the swimming comes on.

I will say that I had wondered how much NBC would show live. And while i have not watched them at night, i have been recording what they show from 10am-1pm. Lot of swimming heats and other stuff i've enjoyed.

The U.S. media is WAY too overboard in emphasizing his potential of winning 8 golds. If he doesn't, there will be a huge letdown, I'm sure of it, and it won't be his fault. It's happened before as the media tries to pump up interest by proclaimin "potential". In many cases, it's just not there and the athletes suffer from the attention that is suddenly thrust upon them.

There was a female swimmer in Atlanta named Summer Sanders. She was good and had a chance at medals on relays. The press presented her as the next BIG THING...and that probably weighed heavily on some of her lackluster swims.

Beth Heiden, sister of Eric who won five speed skating Golds many years ago, was on the women's team. The press pounced on her as a good bet to be the female version of Eric. She never was. She was pretty vocal about it in interviews at the Olympics, too.

I have a question re: BK and others trying to lose weight.

Today BK was mentioning that he had a subway sandwich. For him he is watching calories and fat grams. And both were listed. So fine, you'd know exactly what you're getting.

But it seems like BK eats 90% of his meals out (or take-out). I probably make 90% of my meals (as an example).

I know that when i eat out, i usually have no idea how many calories i am eating. There are so many sauces. And you don't really know what extras they put in there.

I know people have been saying that it's better to eat breakfast. And eat a few meals a day. But i'm wondering if eating out can make it a lot harder to lose weight since you don't really know what they are putting into what you are eating.

I may stop at Piedmont Grocery and grab some of its beer-battered fried chicken in the deli section for my din-din.

The good thing about Phelps is that he seems to do fine with the pressure. Most others would not be able to handle it.

He was lucky though in that first relay. They barely got the gold. And he really had no control over it.

I feel really bad for those other US swimmers if they beat him.

I was sort of hoping for april/ollie. But i wonder if might be april/jerrry. I think she wants april out. But she was also saying how dangerous memphis was. I really hope that she does not go that way.

Yes, it was hot when I went out to run my Friday errands. I got so spoiled with two relatively cool days, but hot weather was bound to return. It is just the middle of August.

I began my afternoon watching last night's MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. I got teary several times in this episode. Many of the men she met were SO upbeat, and it just broke my heart (though they seemed to be doing fine with their rehab.) They have great heart and great determination, and my hat is off to them.

From the comments Kathy made at the very end of the show, it sounded like there will be another season of the show, but that is certainly contrary to an interview I read when the season began.

Next, I watched SON OF RAMBOW. It's a funny, sweet, nostalgic adolescent friendship movie (think STAND BY ME or BRIDGE TO TERIBITHIA, not as good as either), and I enjoyed it very much.

I had time (since the movie is so short) to watch all of the bonus features on the disc. There's an almost half hour "making-of" documentary. There was the kid film made by the director when he was young that inspired this movie. There was the home movie contest winner's 5-minute entry in the style of the movie-within-a-movie in SON OF RAMBOW.

And I got about 30 minutes of the audio commentary listened to. The director, the producer, and the two young stars did the commentary, and they never take a breath.
