Does the FDR set cover his courting of Eleanor?  And Mama Roosevelt's "reluctance" to the marriage?

Oh, yes! And they talk about the adjoining five story brownstones she had built in NYC with sliding doors so she could enter Franklin and Eleanor's house any time she wished.

Also very candid about Franklin's affairs, and after polio struck, there's live footage of him "walking" with his son at his side for him to hold on to. Really amazing footage I had never seen.

Now I am in the midst of a dramatic, romantic Bollywood film from 1964, SHEHNAI starring Biswajit, Rajshree, Johnny Walker, Rheman, and that gal who did the cool head shaking, mask wearing dance in Gumnaam, Laxmi Chhaya.

I take it that you're not referring to the marathon that is being broadcast on the west coast??

What I liked about watching the women's marathon was the "tour" of Beijing.

And in doing a little research into the lead actress of the Bollywood film I am watching, I find that she now lives in Los Angeles, California, USA*.

I just might be ablet to do a Bollywood interview after all!

*A couple of years back I had found the lovely 1960s Bollywood actress Padmini was living in NY. Unfortunately, she returned to India and then passed away before I could contact her.  :-\

Another interesting thing about the swimming relays is that other USA swimmers swam in the qualifying rounds to get those four who swam in the finals there. Those qualifying swimmers also receive gold medals, so hooray for them, too!

Because I don't have to get up at 5:30 or 6 the next 2 mornings, I'm staying up for Olympic coverage both tonight and tomorrow night.

After we were done sampling the wineries and wine, we headed back to our friends' place for the cookout.  They had reserved the Clubhouse in their housing development, and it was a great place for the cookout.  There was a deck, a pool, a small kitchen, and lots of seating inside and out.

I also got to see some old Richmond friends whom I hadn't seen in a while, including one of my favorite stage managers.  And the food was quite good and very filling.

All in all, a very nice way to spend the day.*

*Especially since we ended up leaving Fairfax about three hours later than planned... And then the trip down to Richmond took a bit longer than expected too due to some heavy traffic.  I just hope my brother - and his carload of family - did not have that much more traffic on the way down to the Outer Banks.  Even before we reached Richmond, John Michael had already started the whole "Are we there yet?" routine.

Ah, yes, the adjoining brownstones!  What Mama Roosevelt wanted, Mama Roosevelt got!

Yes and no.  There were a few tee-totalers in our bunch, but the wineries also have strict rules about the number of samples they can provide, and the amount of the pour.  So, even though we did the full tastings at two wineries, none of us had more than one full glass of wine until we were at the cookout.  They also provide lights snacks to accompany the tastings.

*And the winding, single-lane mountain roads to and from the wineries also served as a deterrent to over-indulging.

I'm just wondering what sports and individuals will be featured and focused on during the remaining week of the Olympics now that Michael Phelps is done.  ;)

*However, I guess if I was more of a track and field fan, than I wouldn't be asking that question.  ;)  Although, there are still the individual gymnastics events too.

It's really me. I guess since my husband has been gone my sleeping habits have gotten weird, especially on the weekend.

I also got caught up doing some things to the computer and when the geek in me comes out I can forget about what time it is, as I listen to Danny Stiles and Oscar Brand on WNYC Radio

Finished with my viewing, I think.  I watched the Studio Ghibli Tales Of Earthsea, about which more later, plus I finished six more Adam 12 episodes - the 6th one was what I was waiting for and there'll be more about that later, too.
