Re people taking a while to get back to an email:

Has anyone else been noticing long delays in delivering emails on some servers?  Sometimes we've been getting, for example, an email sent at 11 a.m. immediately and then a 9:30 a.m. email from the same person appears in the in box several hours or even a day later.

Sometimes if you're surprised than a crucial email has not gotten a response, it could pay to follow up with a phone call.

Since more people "vote" on the reality television shows like American Idol and/or Dancing With the Stars than in any general election, why don't we just have McCain and Palin challenge Obama and Biden to a singing and dancing contest and let America decide?

Singdaw, I recognize some of those matchbooks. Some of those places are still in business here. Sugar Bowl, for example, is where our family celebrates all our family millstones. And House of Pancakes is where MusicGuy and I meet sometimes.

DR MattH, thanks for the info about the new shows. My sister got the new issue of EW (apparently there were 3 different Gossip Girl covers). So i saw that.

Also apparently there is no more tv guide in canada. So i can't look at those. Hopefully similar content is on the web.

Tonight there are 3 new shows i am interested in sampling.

1. 90210 (that started last week and i liked)

2. fringe which i was not planning on trying, but maybe it will be good.

and 3. the CW's priviledged.

Also Big Brother has moved to 8pm (at least on the east coast).

It's overcast here and is supposed to rain off and on all day, but so far nothing, and the cloud cover has not cooled things down much.

I am very much looking forward to sampling FRINGE tonight. Since its creator also got ALIAS and LOST started on their long TV journeys, I'm anxious to see what he serves up next. It has gotten very positive reviews.

I'll be working on Criterion's THE EARRINGS OF MADAME DE.... today. Looking forward to it. Even though GREY'S ANATOMY on Blu-ray is likely to arrive today or tomorrow, I'm going to do at least three film sets before diving back into any more TV box sets.

I'm up, I'm up...  And I guess I needed to catch up on my sleep. Ahhh...

DR FJL - Yes, there do seem to be some hiccups from time to time in regards to e-mails and servers.  I've always noticed a "regular" lag time anytime anyone sends me email from a Yahoo! account.  Sometimes it's a few minutes, sometimes it's a few hours. -But then if they send it from another email account, it will be in my email-box almost instantaneously.

*I've also noticed that emails sent during overnight hours tend to get delayed due to normal site maintenance as well as the "traffic" from businesses and organizations.

Hmm... They're saying we're supposed to get some storms here today... With some possible flooding in the area too.

Otherwise, lately, I've been keeping a container of a Trail Mix blend from Fairway in the cupboards all the time.  It contains almonds, cashew, pistachios, walnuts, dried cranberries and raisins.  Good stuff!  -And it's also  a good topping for oatmeal.

I'm beginning to think that if any DR's with even a trace of a chin or chins are going to functions where their photos will be taken, they should budget into their costs air/train travel and accommodations for Jose; I totally could not implement the rules of having my pictures taken and at least in the photos I've seen so far look even more like Jabba the Hut than I seem to in person.   The cousin that I sent Jose's write-up to looked radiant in person and photos so far, by the way.
