I have finally caught up!

I just finished working with the pilot of a new TNT series called TRUST ME (formerly called TRUTH IN ADVERTISING, a title I liked better.) It starts Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanaugh. I liked it very much, and the pilot features a very intense Jason O'Mara, last seen on THE CLOSER as Bill Kroelick.

Well, as I noted at the time, the trailer for it was shown on the CLOSER on Aug 18 - and they called it TRUTH IN ADVERTISING!

Will be glad to see "Just Plain Bill"

As DR JMK has previously posted, it was HE who brought me to HHW when we were on the OLD board.

It was interesting because Judy Garland, Ethel Merman, and a host of other dead celebrities could be found making comments there.....they are pretty quiet here.

I didn't lurk at all, but immediately brought my boring and pretentious comments into the forum, where they remain until this very day.

I did recommend HHW to DR MBARNUM, who fits in perfectly with the crew.

I stumbled upon HHW after getting a "google alert" on Matthew Ashford. It was something on playbill and he was doing a play called Deceit written by Bruce Kimmel.

BEing the night owl I am, I became more curious as to who this Mr. Kimmel was and did a bit of searching on IMDB and on the web. I stumbled upon this site and started reading some of the notes and noted in the back of my mind that the was a rather chatty group. I applied for membership to post a comment. I believe it was in January 2006. If I recall reading that Ben was in the British Isles and Bruce had just cast the play. I do recall having a lovely chat with RLP, Jane and Laura among the first posts I made. I also recall a lively conversation with Rodzinski.

THere have been times I have not felt as knowledgeable on some topics and have kept quiet but ti has been fun to learn and use what i have learn to greater appreciate people and cinema.

I have also had the great pleasure of meeting a member of the HHW. She is a very delightful person and we have a lovely afternoon.

I now prefer to post here ....

That's OK.  Those cameras, across the street from your front door?  Guess who's the subject of Michael Moore's next documentary exposé?    ;)

Wish him luck! (Sadly) my exposé  days are over.

I recently sent a "friend request" to composer (extraordinare) John Morris.  Usually, such folks' Facebook pages are "fan pages", but his was a personal page.  I pondered the same question and asked myself what in blazes he'd make of my request.

I told him I'd been a fan of his work for three decades and would be honored to be included in his Facebook family.

That was all.  Less than 12 hours later I'd been added to his group of friends.

There are a couple of actors I have seen also but I am too nervous to ask them. Ron, you are on facebook also?

I got here when I was working on the credits for SACCO AND VANZETTI and trying to figure out how to credit musicians who did their own arrangements of solo piano pieces. Since I'd worked with Grant Geissman on my last film, I looked him up to see how he was listed, and noticed he had done music for a TFNM documentary. That reminded me of the film, which I hadn't seen in many years, which caused me to look up its director, and here I am. I lurked for a day or two, but once I appeared, people were so friendly that I stayed. (I had also recently left the Randy Newman group after wading through too many flame wars by a repeat offender.) That was two years ago next week. How time flies!

I can understand flame wars. I left and was banned from a board because certain group of people did not approve of this board.  I am not sorry that I defended people for their lifestyles and they dont  like it that is their problem. Sadly a number of individuals who sided with me were also banned because of me fighting back.

I rather post anyway with this group.

Good Afternoon!

Well, it's another unseasonably cool afternoon here in NYC.  And, as has been my routine lately, I've spent way too much time inside and online today.  However, since I ended up getting booked solid next week after a phone call I got yesterday afternoon, I did need to take care of some emails and phone calls.  -And even a bit of blogging.  ;)

So.. I really should get off my duff, and out and about.

KILLER CABS? LAWSUIT CLAIMS HYBRID TAXIS ARE UNSAFE

NEW YORK —  Taxi operators have sued the city over new rules requiring all yellow cabs to go green, saying safety will be jeopardized because cars operating on a mix of gasoline and electric power weren't designed for commercial use.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, weeks before an Oct. 1 deadline requiring new cabs to get 25 miles per gallon. It asked a federal judge to strike down the city requirement.

It claims that fuel-efficient vehicles were not built to withstand the pounding that city taxi cabs endure or to be operated as part of commercial fleets.

Gee the City Of Long Beach, CA has been operating a fleet of fuel-efficient vehicles (CNG) for years, with no problems - and nothing takes a pounding like a garbage truck working industrial alleys.!

Sounds like the cabbies are in the pocket of the oil producers!

I knew it was a fraud when I posted it; doesn't mean I don't think it reflects her personality. There's an interesting Dan Savage commnet about her and her daughter in his column in today's VILLAGE VOICE.

I just returned from an upstairs meeting room in which about 20 staff members were test-driving the new wireless laptop lab.  We didn't crash the system, even when all of us went to different YouTube clips.

I, too, knew the photo wasn't real instantly.  Did this idiot from CNN acknowledge and apologize for her error?  Usually, idiots like her make the mistake then slink away and never acknowledge or apologize - she's everything that's wrong with "news" reportage today, and frankly, she should be fired instantly.

Surely students using the resources for term papers, etc, wouldn't be accessing YouTube! I mean, this is the Public Library - a citadel of erudition!

Right, DR der Brucer...

This wireless lab will be used to teach computer skills to the thousands our geniuses think are out there needing them.  The test today was designed to try to crash the system.

I will be long gone from here before this curriculum is running full tilt.  Thank goodness.
