My friend Charmée and I attended the Actor's Benefit performance of LUCKY STIFF today, and then dined at The Fat Farm (AKA Old Country Buffet).  The cast of the show was wonderful, and the show was beautifully directed by Brad Oscar's close and personal friend Micheal O'Hara.  Still, I guess the show is just not my cup of tea.

Great new avatar, DR TCB!!

I am about to watch Paul Henreid in THE SPANISH MAIN, which I have never seen....but if it is in color, I may watch it!

Thank you, Jrand 21.

Oh JRand, that is so very sad.  Maybe you can make friends with the dog & give him some company during the day.

I'm sorry you didn't care for Lucky Stiff. I thought it was hilarious.

Breakfast was indeed wonderful. Amy is a dear and I wish she had more time but at least she's here on business and working.

Amy and I had egg white omlettes with lots of yummy vegetables. Jose had a Mykonos (sp?) omlette and Larry had a Classic Denver. All 4 omlettes came with home fries. We all had coffee, three whole wheat toasts and one rye toast. Larry had OJ and Jose had Grapefruit juice. That is the meal report from the Good Stuff diner. They were not exceptionally busy but they did let us sit there for a while after we finished our meals and we just chatted and laughed and had a good old HHW time.

Nope, no OJ. Coffee only.

I'm thinking that a lot of guys named Larry may be having O.J., real soon.

LOL

Well, I certainly don't regret seeing the show, and I had a lot of good friends in the cast (including George's friend Chris Serface), but I don't think I would want to sit thru it a second time.

JRand there is a dog down the street from me. A nice looking friendly boxer.  He's tied in the front yard all the time and I feel so bad for him.  I can't believe the same people that got rid of your darling Blue Moon have another dog, though.

Richard and I *pondered* the fudge he bought last night at Middfest.  It was delicious.

What am I doing up so late?  Watching Ohio State squeak by Wisconsin.  Now I'm going to bed.

I had a good evening of viewing. I began by finishing LE DEUXIEME SOUFFLE. Really superb film with lots of clever plotting, and it seemed to last about half of its 144 minutes. That's what great direction will do for a film: make you never notice how long it is.

I watched all of the bonus feature, too. There weren't that many, though there was an audio commentary. Usually I don't like shared comentaries, but these two worked in tandem quite well.

And then finally, I got a two hour chunk of time and watched MICHAEL CLAYTON from HBO-HD. Excellent film that held my attention throughout. I loved the haphazard construction of the pieces so that by the time we got near the end and were back at the beginning of the film again, things made sense and then we were given a very satisfying conclusion.

Tomorrow I'll begin another TV box set. Yep, I had a couple of days without any of those on the horizon, but I knew it couldn't last forever. Once again, Paramount has sent me box sets that I didn't request. Of the three they sent, I had only requested CSI. They also sent MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - Season 5 (which I'll be watching tomorrow) and DYNASTY - Season 3, volume 2.

DR Jose, are you still pondering the chocolates?

Well, I'm still pondering two of the four chocolates that were in the box.  The Basil and Citronelle have been consumed, and were thoroughly enjoyed and savored.  The Basil one was quite nice.  I'm still pondering the Pistachio and Almond Praline.

I must say that i am appalled by the discovery of that billionaire daredevil's body being treated like a giddy sporting event as opposed to a sad story on the news.
