Finally, happy happy birthday, JMK

I feel like I've been talking about JMK's birthday for days now  :)

Well, you can start talking about next year's tomorrow!   ;)  Thanks, FJL!

One thing re: the whose online list at the top.

I was reading yesterday's posts. And there is a separate listing for who is reading today's posts vs yesterday's posts vs when you are just sitting on the discussions page.

On the old board we used to just have who is online and it would show everybody.

For example it showed that me and DR MattH were reading yesterday's posts. So anyone reading today's posts would not see us as being on the board (at the top).

But when i didn't go into an actual day's posts it showed like 7 people were on the board!

Good morning!

I really slept late this morning which I obviously needed, but I've been scurrying through my usual morning activities as a result. I didn't get the cleaning of the dining room done this morning, so that will have to be later. Looks to be another beautiful day with temps warm enough to wear shorts when I go out to lunch later.

That is VERY interesting! This new board continues to amaze!

Once again, my day is dependant on the Disney company. If SLEEPING BEAUTY arrives on Blu-ray, then MISSION IMPOSSIBLE will be laid aside for me to work on it. If it doesn't, I'll be working on watching the other 15 episodes of MI that I have remaining. There is no way I'll finish the box today regardless unless I completely blow off tonight's TV shows (which ain't gonna happen).

I just read some wonderful news this morning for lovers of some classics coming on DVD!

GOODBYE, MR. CHIPS (1969)

FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD

THE YELLOW ROLLS-ROYCE

WATERLOO BRIDGE (1940)

CANNERY ROW

All are coming to DVD on January 27th, 2009. I know that it's several months away, but at least these films finally have definite release dates!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR JMK

Thank you, Mr. Brockman, and my song of the day is, "Oy vey, when did I turn into this old man?"  (I'll be writing the song of the day later).

Glad to hear about GOODBYE MR. CHIPS (wonder if they'll locate the snipped material from the original roadshow version) and especially FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD, which I like to torment Betsy with by showing her the scene where the idiot Collie leads all the sheep off the cliff.  Of course I maintain our late collie Ethel was the stupidest dog ever, but Betsy loved her like no other.

I'd love for LORD JIM to finally get released, too.  Love that Kaper score with all the Gamelan stuff.

Are you aware that the score, as it appears on LP, was remastered for CD?  It sounds wonderful.

According to the press release, CHIPS will be the intact roadshow version.

MADDING CROWD will be the uncut international version, not the version that played the US.
