I had to talk continuously with almost no voice for forty minutes.

Board moderators these days...

All they do is whisper.  Not like in the good old days, when they spoke out with a firm, clear voice...

Oh... I just got an email from my high school's alumni organization... My favorite high school English teacher, Mr. (Steve) Johnson, passed away last week.  -He was the one who would show classic movies and Three Stooges films at the end of each semester.  Awww... :(

OK - I need to get out of here, and get some lunch - probably at the hospital.

Well I am slightly obcessed with the Stephenie Meyer books. I've read Twilight, and New Moon. And am half way through Eclipse. And i should get Breaking Dawn from the library this week.

I really did not realize i would be interested in a story where one of the main characters is a vampire. But it's not really so much about that at all.

Interestingly, i found out that Twilight will be a movie next month (can't wait for that). And i also found out that the 5th book Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's point of view) got leaked and the author decided to publish the 200 page first draft on her website. So i am anxious to read that as well.

Dan - I was a Korvettes fan, too.  Once we moved to Luna Park (the housing complex, not the amusement park) in the Coney island area when I was 10, the nearby E.J. Korvette's record department was a favorite place of mine.

Korvette's was the first store I recall that announced that week's upcoming LP releases in the Sunday paper ads.  I can remember the big BIG full page ads for PACIFIC OVERTURES, CHICAGO and A CHORUS LINE--and this was in a Philly newspaper!

I don't think that Turkish cook is going to do you much good--how long did you have her/him in there?

Good morning, y'all!

Busy, busy, busy weekend.  I guess I'm glad that I do not have off today so I can relax.

I swear that I saw the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile yesterday on the highway.

WEINERMOBILE ON THE HIGHWAY. - That is the name of my new age poetry book.

Well, I stayed home from work today, because I still felt terrible.  You would think that almost ten hours in bed would have been enough (Comments td?).  No such luck.  I have no sick leave left, so I will be even broker than usual for the rest of the month.

I have gotten up, showered, gotten dressed, checked all my e-mails (many mentions of my Friday night event), and soon I have to take the last of my visitors to the airport, and then go see Stan.  Hopefully, he will be doing better today, and I can make my vist quick and then come home and take my medicine.

Back from the long jog, which was, as I suspected it would be, excruciating.  Thankfully, the wind died down on the last half of the run.

Pathetic?  The Little Ol' Jogging Jew?  That is a pretty difficult image to conjour of you, BK, especially with your abs and buns of steel.

I decided to weigh myself again today and sure enough I was a pound and a half lighter than yesterday - so this last week I lost two and a half pounds, so that's better.  Now I'm just two pounds from reaching my first plateau, which was thirty pounds.  When I'm there, then I'll decide how much further to go.

I'm also beginning to have not so good feelings about this Bacharach show - the producer seems very confused by everything - a press release was prepared over two weeks ago and I was told that some woman had to sign off on it - it still hasn't gone out.  And he's promising people "special guest" billing, which he cannot do because the minute you take a benefit out of alphabetical only, you're screwed.  Kevin's feeling the same way, and I really don't want people to keep working if this thing is going to fall apart.  So, Kevin and I are going to have a serious conversation about it.  We're less than seven weeks away and no one knows about the event.  Now, for the benefit last November, we really did do everything in the last four weeks, but it's a lot of work and I have to be comfortable that we're secure with the theater and everything else.  He hasn't bought my plane ticket and I have no idea where I'll be staying, either.

Back from UD, where I spoke to an English class about researching grants.  They were thrilled.

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from Henrico Doctor's Hospital.

I did grab some lunch when I got, and wished I had stopped somewhere else along the way. I didn't realize that the cafeteria goes on "limited service" between lunch and dinners hours. So, the only hot food available was the "homemade chicken soup" - which was pretty heavy on the noodles by the time I got to the kettle.  They also had "sandwiches" but only if you bought the small container of egg or tuna salad from the case, and then two slices of bread from the "bread basket".  And, yes, there was Jell-O.  -At least it all only cost $4.35.

bk - Since I know that there has been a lot of schedule shuffling lately at New World Stages, may I suggest that you and Kevin check to make sure that the space is still secured for the benefit.

-And if "special guest" billing is allowed, then you should make those performers guarantee some sort of monetary donation to BC/EFA just in case something happens to come up "unexpectedly".
