The only thing I can remotely think of is that they took offense to nudie and construed that as nude and thus porn....

Well, the site does promote the movie TFNM - a movie that no small number of people would consider "porn".

This site is also gay-freindly - so "Good Parents" need to protect thier impressionable off-spring from the homosexual agenda.

This site had also been known to post unkind remarks about public officials and so is clearly of suspicious intent.

This site also promotes the Lambada - the forbidden dance!

This site also allows posts that remark kindly on the works of ALW - clearly subversive!

der Brucer

And to think...BK asked  me to pull a pic of an anatomically correct stuffed toy to keep us "family friendly".

And what porn site uses the word "breast"?

I'll spare you the link, but the text lead-in is:

Welcome to Naked Breasts Galleries. Sexy brunette model strips nude to show her perky naked breasts.

der Brucer

I knew we could count on you, der Brucer.

DR Ann, can you reset your avatar so we can see you and Toby better? It is Toby, right?

I've been working on it, DR Elmore, but I can't figure it out.  Any help, anyone?

So far it seems that unless you imported an avatar under the old board, you are left to being "one of the little people".

I wanted to be the judge when the boys were young.

Out of curiosity, at what age level would you let young boys search for info on STDs?

I would say a young age, as long as it was research to scare them into avoiding STD's. ;D

The luncheon event that I helped with today went perfectly - good food, good speaker, and excellent weather for us to eat outdoors under the canopy.  I left there about 1:30, met Richard at the place he'd taken my car for routine maintenance, traded cars with him, and went shopping for the rest of what I needed for the wedding present I'm taking to GA this weekend.  I got home just in time to  greet UPS delivering the new outfit that Richard bought me to wear to his graduation later this month.  It will also do nicely as my retirement party outfit.

My mom seemed to be under the same philosophy.  When I was seven years old, we visited a dear friend of hers whose partner had AIDS.  He was in the final stages, I remember, and they were taking care of him at home because it was where he wanted to be.  I asked my mom what he had and how he got it, and she told me in simple but detailed terms.  A lot of information for a young kid, maybe, but I understood it and it left a strong lesson in my mind.  AIDS was never an abstract thing for me again.  I think kids are capable of handling a lot more than we give them credit for sometimes.

By the way,  I seem to remember that our Aussie boys are traveling in Europe at the moment.  Am I right?  Is that why I haven't seem them around here?

When I briefly did the computer block I recall how surprised we were at the amount of information they couldn't access for school reports.

Wow, Space-Nursing, how cool!

Don't get me started on the breastfeeding issue, though.  Since having Toby I've had to breastfeed him in public, usually in my car, once or twice.  I've been lucky so far, but I'm waiting for the day someone gets offended and accuses me of public indecency.

That is very young!

My father occasionally talked about his patient who was dying from Syphilis.  That had a big impact on me.

BK:

I think in this ridiculous effort at these mammoth sets with hydraulics they are going to find this happening more and more - it happens almost nightly with 9 to 5.  I can promise you if Nudie Musical gets to B'way it will be delightfully retro in that regard.

So, when height is needed, TFNM will use 2 dozen hefty Nubians to hoist a platform?

Do you mean abstract things like a playmate having two mommies -- and that's okay? -- or having two daddies -- and that's also okay?

I'm sick of the hypocrisy and lies we're getting on the pro-Prop. 8 ads here in California.  Did you know that "they" are saying that making it legal for gay men and women to marry same-sex partners means that schools will be teaching that it is OKAY for boys to marry boys?  For girls to marry girls?  RUN FOR THE HILLS.  I don't know why schools would be "teaching" that unless they also teach that the norm is for boys to marry girls but that some boys like only boys and some girls like only girls.

I know one thing:  Being raised by heterosexuals in a heterosexual environment that vocally denounces homosexuality NEVER DETERRED ANYONE FROM BEING HOMOSEXUAL.

So I don't know how the reverse would or could be true.

Another lie being told is that churches would be liable for lawsuits for hate crimes (!!!) and would start being taxed for not accepting gay marriages.  Well, GEE....they aren't taxed if they refuse to marry divorcees.  Catholics aren't taxed for excommunicating folks.  Mormons and Quakers and Amish aren't taxed for shunning.  Why would a church's beliefs about gay marriage be the backbreaker????

STUPID LIES.

Well if you do it in a booth at Denny's the odds are high!
(Many Mom's make a compromise by loosly covering up when in open public view; perhaps a resaonable requirement - but banning Mom to the Rest Room for feeding is wrong.)

Wasn't this one of those huge issues that saw Cindy Williams leaving "Laverne and Shirley"...because she wanted to breast-feed her newborn at work?

ah, I should have clarified, I suppose, that i do indeed cover up as much as possible.  Usually he's in a sling or a wrap that covers me too.  But I defy anyone to perform the whole maneuver without briefly displaying the goods :)
