I tinkered a little bit with the HDTV in the front bedroom (my backup TV in case my principal one goes out for some unknown reason.) Took a little longer than I thought it would, but I was still able to squeeze in a fun movie and three TV shows tonight!

I think it's usually in mid-November, but I could be wrong about that.

The fun movie I plucked from the shelf was YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, Connery's fifth James Bond film. I think it's the most underrated of his Bonds flicks, and I find it much more entertaining than THUNDERBALL or DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. (It's shorter, too; less than two hours). I watched the Ultimate Edition remaster which looks and sounds far better than any previous release. Still has some sharpness issues, but it's still cleaner and more watchable than ever before.

The first six Bond Blu-rays (not counting CASINO ROYALE which came out a year ago) come out next week, so I'll be trying to work my way through them whenever I have a spare moment later next week.

Next, I finished THE MENTALIST from last night. Very enjoyable show. Loved the castle on the beach.

BTW, CBS has renewed the show for the rest of the season.

Next, I checked back in with PUSHING DAISIES. And it will be for the last time. I really love Lee Pace and Kristin Chenoweth, but the show, despite being a mystery, just does not engage me. Besides, when BONES comes back after its baseball hiatus, that will get my full attention.

And then I concluded my evening of viewing by watching last night's THE SHIELD. Oh, my poor handsome Ronnie! His days are numbered! :(

Our library isn't convenient for me, and parking can be difficult.  I went a number of times when we first moved here, when dogs were still permitted.  After Echo was no long welcome I stopped going.  I've decided I should use the library & was curious if I could go on line to hold books.  Seems I should be able to once I log in.  I can't log in without a password & I can't find a place to give it one.  The phone number for the library has bee busy for a long time.

Our library lets you download audio books free.  I haven't done it yet, but it's great, if you like that sort of thing

One of the co-owners of the restaurant took me aside tonight, gave me a big ole bear-hug and stated, "You are my calming force."

No, I'm sure you're right... there are just some things people have been hinting at for Christmas and I was hoping to get a  jump on the shopping but if it's not on sale I'm not buying it!

I have been catching up on SUPERNATURAL SEASON THREE, and today, before work, I caught the episode, "A Very Supernatural Christmas."  A truly unique episode and now one of my favorites.

What's the name of the one with the car crusher?  When we were kids my folks used to bundle us into our Pj's grab some pillows and blankets and load my 2 little brothers and me into the back of the station wagon and go off to the Johnny All Weather Drive In

they had a playground inthe back and they would show a bunch of cartoons and then the kids would supposedly be tuckered out and fall asleep so the adult movie could start

We were still watching when that  scene came on....OH MY!! Whenever I hear Jame Bond that is the first thing that comes to mind....(and I still have to watch that scene from between my fingers)

My dad had to go to the hospital today. He has/had an obstruction in his bowel of some sort and after going through procedures similar to those Callie went through, he is now home and has to drink two bottles of the stuff you drink before a colonoscopy.  He said it isn't doing any good yet...they think it's the powder stuff they gave him after he got his gall bladder out that's just been working too well.  He and mom seem pretty optimistic about it, but I am concerned.  Vibes would be appreciated.

Car crusher was Goldfinger.  Had the telephonic conversation.  Will now watch something short.

The entire season three was really fantastic on this show. The Blu-rays are coming out next month for Season Three, but the cost is well above what I'd spend ($55). I'll wait for a sale one day. I have the first two seasons on regular DVD, both bouoght on sale for less than $15 each.
