Sure! And I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell.

I hope it's a great ceremony, although I still have no idea what the hell he's going to do with this degree.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I've actually been up since 8:00.  However, I've just been lazing around, when I should not be lazing around, so...

And now for something completely different... and a bit scary too... but not necessarily in a Halloween kind of way...

A couple of "video responses" to the announcement of the closing of Spring Awakening have been posted over on YouTube.  Some of them are quite "colorful".  This one in particular is one of the dooziest.

*She does blame the current administration for the closing of the show, so, my apologies if this is taken as a political statement.  ;)

**OH!  And, yes, she does have a potty-mouth, so keep your sound down real low if you're at work.  ;D

Well, I'm taking the bus back down to Richmond this afternoon at 4:00, and I have a couple of things to take care of around the apartment before I trek back down to the Commonwealth.  So, it will be another "Pack and Post, Clean and Post" day for me.

Lord.....DRJOSE....now I remember why I don't go see shows like Spring Awakening....I liked the CD....but I don't want to sit next to people like the girl in that video....

And I actually don't think GWB has anything more to do with the closing of SA than God did to get DREAMGIRLS the Tony Award.

For DR CILLALIZ, re: the flu shot question.

I had mentioned that here it is required for people to wait after they get their flu shot. And you asked why.

I didn't realize that it wasn't mandatory everywhere. But the reason we are required to wait after getting a flu shot is in case we get a reaction. Apparently if you are going to get a reaction it is most common that it will happen in the first 15 minutes. So they make everyone wait just to make sure they did not have a reaction.

That was why i asked you if they had made you wait. And i think i asked how soon the reaction occured (i was curious). Hope that helps.

Sure seems odd to have an 8-10 hour drive ahead of us and not leave the house until 1:30pm.

It seems like most people here like and dislike the same teams.  I also like nick and starr. Although they can both be very competitive and slightly rough around the edges (example nick hiding the rock clue under his jacket in last night's show and making people think he had not found it).  I mean i have no problem with people being competitive (it is for $1 million dollars). And i don't mind them not sharing. It's just sometimes they seem to go out of their way and go overboard (like he could have just put the rock under his jacket and left vs actually saying to people that he had not found the clue).

I also really dislike the divorcess. Wow they are getting a bad edit to make everyone find them so bitchy. At least they are not acting as stupid as they did the first few shows.

I don't know what to make of the frats. They have not impressed lately. And i actually was not upset to see the losing team go last night. They seemed like nice people. But they never did anything in the race. And i'm usually all about the competitive teams!

Mother/son. not sure. I don't love them. Don't hate them. The son seems quite on top of things. And they seem quite lovely. I'm just not sure. And i don't know what to make of the preview for next week with the son and starr!

The most confusing team for me is ken and tina. They are not that likeable. But they finish first almost every time. When they are doing well they work well together. But when they are having troubles they fight (see preview for next week). Looks like we will hear lots of yelling and fighting.

I'd say my fav team is nick and starr. But interestingly enough there are not really that many really competitive teams. Just really them and ken/tina!

I don't go to a lot of concerts or SOLO shows.....but many years ago I saw Liberace at Starlight Musicals, and I must say that man put on a SHOW!!!

And of all people, I enjoyed Sarah Brightman's concert show - it was part of a package - she looked great and sounded great and she had a real orchestra and backup singers and a big production.

Smaller shows.....seeing 4 GIRLS 4 with Rosemary Clooney, Helen O'Connell, Rose Marie, and Margaret Whiting was a lot of fun, as was a evening of music with The McGuire Sisters.

Any DVD reviewers on HHW scheduled to do the Mickey Mouse Club Presents ANNETTE DVD coming out in November?

I was still the standard DVD reviewer for Disney last year when those tins came out. I requested them for review but didn't get them. I didn't get the True-Life adventures either. Since I only do Disney Blu-ray at this point, the issue is moot for me.

Wait a minute, hold the phone......the memory is working now.

Best RECENT concert/show I have seen:

Little Miss Dynamite.....Brenda Lee at the Pike Performing Arts Center last year.  If you like her, don't miss a chance to see her live.....she still rocks and has a great time with the audience.

AND - Mr John Astin doing an evening as Mr Edgar Allan Poe....he was GREAT!!!

Good morning!

Very cool here and it isn't supposed to warm up out of the 50s today. I have the heat on low (60), and it's already snapped on a couple of times this morning.

Best live concert I ever saw was Liza Minnelli. This was in the early to mid-80s prior to the taping of LIZA IN LONDON. I saw the same show here, and she was magnificent.

Her mother Judy Garland paid two visits to Charlotte for concerts: in 1961 prior to her Carnegie Hall triumph and in 1965 when her voice was at the beginning of its decline. Sad to say, it was the second one I saw. She tried hard, and apologized multiple times during the show for being in hoarse voice, but listening to her recordings in the mid to late 60s, her voice has that same rapsy quality in all of them so I don't think she was hoarse. I just think her best days were behind her.
