Now that Anthony is back I have to start cooking for two again. I went to the greenmarket yesterday and got brussel sprouts (one of his favorites), yellow string beans, green string beans, two scones for our Sunday morning breakfast and a foccacia from one of my favorite vendors. It has goat cheese, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. We will have it for lunch sometime this week.

Today my television - or another one - is supposed to arrive.  I have my fingers crossed that it will work!  I don't know if they repaired my old one, or if they are sending me a replacement.

Great photos, DR Vixmom!

By the way, that was a California Condor that soared past me yesterday. We had just given up on seeing a condor. I saw it coming and whipped the camera out of my pocket. I had one quick second to point and shoot. Pure luck.

Thanks for the vibes DR VIXMOM.

Sounds like the show went very well last night.

What is the new KRITZERLAND CD release all about?

Everyone in Philly is on pins and needles this morning after last night's game suspension of the World Series.  What a disappointment!  And it's gonna seem kind of anti-climatic to just play three innings tonight.  I would rather that the Phillies lost tonight and won the Series in a real game even if it's played in Tampa Bay.  Grrrrr--between this and the election I really can't wait for the next week to be over!

In any case, I will be wearing my Phills cap all day unless a VP tells me otherwise.

I had a dream last night but the only thing I can remember about it was that there was a newspaper story in which I was somehow scandalously linked to Rita Hayworth.  I have no idea where that one came from...

TOD:

I love a good lasagna with a thick meaty sauce and lots of ricotta but light on the mozzarella.

There's a restaurant here in Philly called Champions that has a delish crab meat ravioli.

And my mom's baked ziti was petty good, too.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up...  And I'm watching "The Doctors" (or "The Drs.") - the TV talk-info show with my Mom.  Too bad they're not talking about diabetes and post-op self-care today. ;)

And I guess my nudging last night has already started to take effect.  When I got down to the living room, my Dad was going through the suggested post-op diet and food list with my Mom.  -Of course, I'm wondering why he didn't do that last week when she came home, but...  ;)

*And the visiting nurse should be here in an hour or so too, so... ;)

It was interesting watching some of the post-"game" wrap-up last night.  Apparently, Philly could have technically won last night and taken the series if it were not for some rule change two years ago.  But, yes, what an interesting turn for this Series to take.

I don't make a lot of pasta dishes. I used to make lasagna a lot. But my niece decided she doesn't love it anymore (she used to ask for it at least once a month).

I do make canneloni (some all cheese and some with meat). Very yummy.

re: the world series.

I wonder if both teams would rather they just started the game over and played a full 9 innings.

It should definitely be interesting.

DR vixmom et al - Photobucket does have a auto-resizing function.  It can take a little while to figure it out due to how their control panel/interface is laid out, but it sure does come in handy.

-And if they had stopped the game earlier - like when they grounds crew started sprinkling all that dirt on the field (and before they rolled out the tarp - which was known to be "faulty") - then they would have to do an "do over".
