TOD - I make good lasagna, when I have the time.  I prefer to make it ahead and refrigerate or freeze for baking later.  If I assemble, bake, and sit down to eat it all in one fell swoop it's not very appetizing to me.  Before spinach was taken off my diet (temporarily, I hope) I made these roll-up thingies where you spread a mixture of spinach and cheeses on cooked lasagna noodles, roll them up, and bake in a white sauce.

Of course, there's always our household standby, chicken spaghetti.  Great use for leftover chicken.  Just mix into a jar of sauce (we like Newman's Own Sockarooni), add a small can of mushroom slices and serve over cooked spaghetti.

Let's see if this works.  This isn't post-confirmation, but post-Bar Mitzvah, after the boys "styled" BeeGee with bling they brought home:

As for the Topic of the Day....

I'll take whatever three dishes are a part of the daily "Sinfonia di Pasta" at BECCO.  Their housemade raviolis are my favorite: porcini mushroom ravioli, pumpkin ravioli with sage butter, shrimp ravioli with spicy tomato sauce, etc.

And I love a good orecchiette/penne with broccoli raab and Italian sausage.

Today my television - or another one - is supposed to arrive.  I have my fingers crossed that it will work!  I don't know if they repaired my old one, or if they are sending me a replacement.

Keep us posted! I'm definitely interested in how this pans out.

Good morning!

Almost got down to freezing last night! In October! Does this mean we're in for a cold winter? The last several winters have been very mild.

The weirdest thing has been happening on MSN email for the last couple of days--I had an old message I deleted, and I noticed it was back in my In Folder.  So I deleted it again, and, lo and behold, it popped back into the In Folder within a couple of seconds.  I put it in "Junk," thinking I could just empty my Junk folder, but as soon as I opened the Junk folder, yep, that message jumped back into my In Folder.  I even tried creating a "Weird" folder to put it into, thinking I could just then delete the whole folder, but, you guessed it, it popped back into my In Folder within a few seconds.  Isn't that bizarre?

Tonight Fox had scheduled a new episode of HOUSE and a rerun of FRINGE. I forgot to check the cable guide this morning to see if Fox is going to give the entirety of prime time tonight over to the three innings left to play of the Series or place one of those two shows after the game concludes.

Thus, I'll leave Fox out of my listings below.

Sad to say, even in this day and time, there is too much on TV shown still in pan and scan. (Like all the paycable channels when they show movies).

I'll be working on the next box set of THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO, Season 2, Volume 2 today. There are 12 episodes in the box. With luck, I should get half of them watched today.

bk, did I miss the announcement somewhere? The Kevin-Sean show is going to be sold on DVD or were you recording simply for archival purposes?

Still no TV, DR MATTH.....but everyone here will know when it arrives and in what condition.

DR JMK....it's the ear bobs that make DD BeeGee's outfit.  Too bad he didn't have a necklace to match.

Now I'm heading down to check the mail (should be getting some new Criterions any day now) and then start fixing lunch. (I'm preparing a meat loaf today.)

MattH, the intention, if it edits well, is to release the Kevin and Sean show on DVD.

Jrand, the new Kritzerland CD is the Bernard Herrmann disc - I think you preordered, but maybe I'm wrong.

Ah yes, thanks, I did pre-order, but I had forgotten what it was......age being what it is.

Yes, DR MATTH - as Ricky Ricardo would say I am on pins and niddles.

DR JMK the lei is perfect, but somewhat less formal than the spectacles and the drop earbobs.

It's not a bad little set.....and it has an HD tuner, but it isn't much fun to watch.

I hope this will not be construed as political speech, but I for one am sick of the incorrect and obviously pejorative use by certain Right Wing nutcases of the noun "Democrat" as an adjective.  Therefore I have coined my own new term that I would love everyone to start using:  RepubliCON.
