Then came the grocery shopping...
Before I left the house, my Dad gave me a list of things to buy. I also added a few "suggestions" to his list. While I was eating my lunch, my Dad called another four or five times with some other additions. I was going to go back my good ole stand-by, Ukrop's, but my father suggested that I go to the Wal-Mart instead since the prices are better/cheaper there - and since he gave me money for the groceries.

I haven't been in a "Super Center" in a while, and I practically got overwhelmed as soon as I walked through the doors. Thankfully, the way the store is laid out, I just had to stay on the "left side", and I just zig-zagged along the aisles. I did end up pulling a few items for myself (to bring back to NYC), but I made sure to read all the labels on the food that I was buying for my parents, and I even bought them some things that I don't think they would have bought for themselves.
Needless to say, I spent the money that my father gave me, plus a little(?) bit more. However, their fridge and pantry are now stocked with healthy and "safe" foods for my parents. And it looks like I may even be cooking dinner for them tonight too.
