BK:  I have now "caught up" on yesterday's posts.

I have to say, re: your last post of the evening, that the four pieces of garlic bread that you ate were far less healthy for you than either the salad or spaghetti, neither of which you finished.

Some "yum" is good for the morale, every now and again, but couldn't the four pieces of "Big Hunk" have been that "yum" for the day?  Your body would have enjoyed digesting that uneaten salad much more than the bread.

The political ads here are getting very vicious.

And I suspect you'll be getting lots of them. The recent polls show the state moving from Obama to McCain - a real toss-up!

der Brucer

Say what?  Every poll I've seen had Indiana in the RED from the git-go.

RCP Average 10/07 - 10/26 -- --                 46.5 46.8 Obama +0.3
Reuters/Zogby 10/23 - 10/26 601 LV         50     44    McCain +6
SurveyUSA 10/21 - 10/22 631 LV               45     49    Obama +4
Big10 Battleground 10/19 - 10/22 586 LV  41     51    Obama +10
Rasmussen 10/07 - 10/07 500 LV              50     43    McCain +7

So!   S. Woody makes you sleep in a tree?

No the tree towers just ouside the bedroom window - the result of some special bean planting.

I hope this will not be construed as political speech, but I for one am sick of the incorrect and obviously pejorative use by certain Right Wing nutcases of the noun "Democrat" as an adjective.  Therefore I have coined my own new term that I would love everyone to start using:  RepubliCON.

I'd construe it as such but I've been biting my tongue ever since a tempest in a teapot several weeks ago.

I'm sure you meant to say Tempest in a Teapot Dome.  ;)

Good Late Afternoon!

It was good to get out of the house for a bit.

I went ahead and treated myself to lunch at Chik-fil-A.  I hadn't had their Waffle Fries in years, and they sure were tasty.

*And "Doug" suggested I try their new-ish "Chik-fil-A" dipping sauce.  The sauce was good, and "Doug" has a nice smile and blue eyes... ;)

I don't stock up. I wait until the last minute to buy it. That way I won't eat any.

When we were in CA. i gave out quarters - few complaints!

Now - there are no trick or treaters in the neighborhood (unless we count wildlife).

Then came the grocery shopping...

Before I left the house, my Dad gave me a list of things to buy.  I also added a few "suggestions" to his list.  While I was eating my lunch, my Dad called another four or five times with some other additions.  I was going to go back my good ole stand-by, Ukrop's, but my father suggested that I go to the Wal-Mart instead since the prices are better/cheaper there - and since he gave me money for the groceries.  ;)

I haven't been in a "Super Center" in a while, and I practically got overwhelmed as soon as I walked through the doors. Thankfully, the way the store is laid out, I just had to stay on the "left side", and I just zig-zagged along the aisles.  I did end up pulling a few items for myself (to bring back to NYC), but I made sure to read all the labels on the food that I was buying for my parents, and I even bought them some things that I don't think they would have bought for themselves.

Needless to say, I spent the money that my father gave me, plus a little(?) bit more.  However, their fridge and pantry are now stocked with healthy and "safe" foods for my parents.  And it looks like I may even be cooking dinner for them tonight too.

This really has thrown a monkey wrench into my plans for today.  And now tomorrow I have to rearrange everything so the helper can do this e-mail stuff.  There's unfortunately no way to do this other than by hand.

That's not correct, BK, especially since you use PayPal.  PayPal makes printing labels quite easy, and you can extract everyone who's paid for a certain item and print their labels just like that.  I've done it before.

It's not labels - it's getting them into the Constant Contact eBlast list.

bk - If you're registered with Constant Contact, you should have a "Saved Mailing List" in your account.

From MBarnum:
Quote
Uhg. That is a toss up.

The smell of Mary Jane cigarettes make me nauseous.

I’m rather allergic to it.

There are some days I could really enjoy a joint!

Like every day for the past month.

I guess those movies I saw in middle school and high school did the trick. Anytime the possibility of "partaking" ever came up, I was usually too scared to do so.  Plus, I just liked watching everyone get high and stupid.  It made it so much easier to hold things over their head that way.

*And, yes, that's the secret to my success.  ;D

Oh what a night it was — again. Sean and Kevin wowed the crowd last night at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre with their Los Angeles premiere performance of "Jersey Men." Their energy was high, their voices blended powerfully and the audience — including my ever-lovin' Amy and I — loved it.

Even the post-show pickups that had to be done were a blast. Sean had to redo a portion of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" because of problems with the band, and it was priceless watching BK cut him mid-song and tell him, "Stop, Sean, stop ... our cameraman is in the bathroom!"

Congratulations to the boys, John Randall and the band, director BK and stage manager Adrianna. Can't wait for the DVD!

BK, sounds like there could be a blooper reel as an extra feature! ;)

Someone over at MattH's reviewing neck o' the woods has accused me of "violating Warner policy" by reviewing QUO VADIS more than two weeks before street date.  Said reviewer had better do a little investigation as to how DVDTalk works--the reviewers don't get product directly from the studios, I have never, ever been told of any such policy on the part of Warner, and, most importantly, I do not decide when to push reviews live--an editor does that.
