Sorry DR Druxy, all I know is that I find fax machines temperamental & frustrating at times.  At least the one we currently own.  Did you get a surge protector for your computer?

Poor Mr. Goldstein. He had a terrible time at Peter Piper Pizza this afternoon. Mae-Ling threw quite a temper tantrum, he tells me.

;D  She looks too sweet to do such a thing.

Yes, doesn't she?

However, I've seen it. It's not pretty.

DR Laura, I've never heard of simply treating it with an anti-inflammatory.  Did it work right away & is that because yours was a mild case?

It worked immediately. However, I took it daily for a long time before it went away completely.

This morning Keith went to a podiatrist & got a cortisone shot in his foot-ouch.  It appears he has plantar fasciitis.

I had that. My doctor gave me a pill for it.

 ???

Ah yes, I had to get a cortisone shot for the same thing yesterday. Laura's doctor treated hers with an anti-inflammatorymedication.  Right, DRL?

Keith's doctor put a pad on his foot before taping it.  Now it feels MUCH better.  How does your foot feel?

My foot feels better today than what I thought.  Luckily, the stuff seems to be working.  I got no pad though!

DR Kerry, does your foot already feel better since the shot?  Keith wonders if it is the cushion taped under his foot or a combination of the two.

My doctor told it would hurt today, but that by Saturday it should be fine.  He also told me that the cortisone itself would feel like a bump under my heel (and hurt) for about 2 days.  Luckily, that part seems just fine (although I could tell what he meant when I walked out his office).  I had some other issues with my ankle that couldn't be taken care of as quickly, so I opted for the cortisone because I felt I'd make more progress on that right away (so I could deal with the other stuff as it came along-- one probelm wiped out; right?).

BTW, how are YOU feeling?

Thanks Kerry, so far I don't feel any worst than I did a few days ago, and better than I did the last couple of days.

I hope the next couple of days brings great relief to your foot, and the ankle begins to heal as it should.

Yes. I had plantar fasciitis and the doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory for it.

I had it and they gave me physical therapy and anti-inflamatories.

Try this DR DRUXY:

Go to the www.hp.com website and look up the FAQs for the 2210. It basically says to hold down the "Setup" button while pressing the "Options" button and the message will go away. Worked for me.

Good Evening!

Ah, it was nice to actually get out of the house - my parents' house - for more than two hours today. :)

Glad you're doing OK at least (feeling no worse is progress).

Thanks for the good wishes.  I am very hopeful.

I had a cortisone shot once for bursitis.  I think the doctor put it in the wrong spot, plus I was greatly improved by then & there were better options for treating it.  The result of the shot was my bursitis was considerably worst than before I went to the doctor.  We had just moved into the area & when I would tell anyone what happened, they immediately asked if I went to Dr..... and they were all correct.  Seems his reputation proceeded him.

I had hoped to catch up with two of my former college professors when I headed over to VCU, but, of course, it turned out that both of them were "out of the office" for the afternoon.  However, since I was in the "Fan", I decided to park by my old apartment and walk around and take some pics of the old 'hood - and the amazing Fall Color!

*I'm in the process of uploading the pics to a web gallery, and will post a link once it's ready to be viewed.

I too am hopeful, that I will not have flu like symptoms from this shot.

We went to the clinic at the pharmacy today instead of the one at the doctors office, the timing & location were far more convenient.  Because the pharmacy knows immediately what your insurance covers, we were pleasantly surprised to find the shots were completely covered.

Then I headed up to Church Hill to meet up with my friend, Mike, for dinner.  We actually headed back down to Shockoe Bottom to eat at Sette.  I had the Grilled Caesar Salad (they grill, lightly char the romaine), and a Pizza Rustica, and Mike had the Wild Mushroom Pizza.  It was pretty good pizza.  Sette opened after I left Richmond, but I had been hearing and reading about it for a while.  It was good to know that the place lived up to it's reputation. ;)

*It was also great catching up with Mike too.  I had forgotten that he works with "Senior Populations" at MCV (Medical College of Virginia), and he was the perfect person for me to vent to in regards to my parents' current health situation, matters.  He also "confirmed" that the quasi-denial that my Mom is going through is "normal".  Doesn't necessarily make it right, but it does make it easier to accept.

This is nice, and so sad it is needed:

The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims is named in honor of the singer-actress's slain mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King.

"The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime," the family says in a statement. "This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling."

Donations to the Hudson-King Foundation can be sent:
c/o Abrams Garfinkel Margolis Bergson, LLP
Attn: William L. Abrams, Esq.
237 West 35th Street, 4th Floor
New York, NY 10001

The first two pics are of the tree in front of my old apartment building.  -We had the apartment in the back, so you really can't see that in the pic.  ;)

And most of those pictures were taken on Hanover Avenue.  In the spring, seeing those trees form a green canopy over the street is also quite a beautiful sight.
