There was a documentary on this disc dealing with the end of Charlie Chan at Fox. Nice to have this kind of wrap up the series, though it gives away the identity of some of the murderers in the films in the box set, so be warned not to watch this until you've finished the movies in the box if you don't want some of the denouements spoiled.

Next, because I haven't seen it in several years, I took out DUCK SOUP starring the Marx Brothers. So brilliant! Would that comedies today had this much invention and sheer fun.

I concluded my evening watching tonight's GHOST WHISPERER. A pretty good story. I enjoyed the show tonight. Next week looks like the turning point story that was whispered about this summer.

One of Gabe's friends wore a John McCain mask to school today and kept saying, "Trick or treat, my friends."  :)

I'm still at work.  You know what the best part is??  No Trick-orTreaters! ;)

And now, it's probably late enough that if I go home, no one will ring my doorbell.  It's not that I don't like Halloween, but I didn't buy any candy this year and I don't have anything to give out.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

And STILL they come.  I've never had trick or treaters this late - but then again, it is a Friday night.  I really want to watch a motion picture on DVD but if I'm to do so I need to start it by nine.

I'm going to head downstairs now a little earlier than usual. Maybe I can get to bed before midnight. It's been a long time since that happened.

Good night!

Wow!  That's one snazzy costume!

Almost as snazzy as yours.

But you needn't be a virgin to wear his.

Almost home. We made good time getting to and through the Lincoln Tunnel, but now we're inching towards Penn Station. -Traffic and construction delays. However, still almost there. Almost home.

My favorite title so far, JOHN HOLMES: A LIFE MEASURED IN INCHES.

Fully illustrated?

Well, there I was in LA in a nice hotel for two nights, and the first night the web didn't work, and the second night, HHW was hacked. So my first chance to try webtv didn't get me very far. I felt like Joan Crawford in that Night Gallery episode where she blows a bunch of cash on having the ability to have sight for one day---just in time for the NY blackout!

I was going to post a photo of HHW on my big webtv but the upload folder is full. Oh well...

I'm giving everyone two treats - I bought a huge bag of 300 lollipops so they get one of those and one candy.

There are Moms who will not appreciate the lollipops (kids have them in their mouths, trip and fall, and...well you get the picture).

No trick or treaters here. I think we just live too far away from the street and our house has no Halloween decorations to lure in the kiddies. So we went to a Halloween gathering at Oakton, where chili was brewing in a cauldron in the outdoor fireplace. (Oakton is a pre-Civil War estate.) They had the outdoor screen up and were watching HALLOWEEN. I brought a copy of one of the horrible explotation films I've cut: SLEEPAWAY CAMP III. We got a few minutes into it and had to leave, since Greg has to leave for work at 5AM tomorrow. We'll see it they are still my friends tomorrow. They liked knowing the fact that I had done all the screams, since I'm usually rather quiet.

bk, sorry I missed you in LA; we were there for such a short time. But Richard Sherman sent his regards; he remembers you very fondly and thinks you are a very talented fellow!

I tried to watch THE HAUNTED, but got interrupted by a telephone call from my buddy Mark in Wyoming. Afterwards I just couldn't get into the movie. Now I am trying to decide if I should watch something else or just hit the hay.

Cool! I thought the version of WIND I bought didn't have a webcam, but I was wrong, it does!

There are still people wandering about outside, but I shut the lights off in the living room and closed the shades because I'm all in.
