Good morning, all! I had a very poor night of sleep, which bums me out, because I was looking forward to a morning of an extra hour's sleep. Last night I finally watched the DVD of FLOWER DRUM SONG, which was quite wonderful. I felt several of the extras seemed more to be infomercials and promotion for the new - at the time - Hwang adaptation than the movie or the musical on which it's based, but it was fun to see several friends talking about the show.
I have to plan this morning's walk before settling down to work. I have to write the notes about courtesy accidentals and the editorial theory in the new edition of BABES IN TOYLAND, and get to work on THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, which is one long score. I have to address the question with Jo Loesser this week of errors in the published vocal score, which the computer copyist has assumed are correct but are not. I'm not finding many, but there is a major one early in the Act One Prelude.
So, I'm thinking I will walk this morning over to Riverside Park and stroll down to 72nd Street where the park begins, then wal over to amsterdam or Columbus Avenue and walk back up to my place.
