I have been doing yardwork.

Sounds like an Emily Dickinson poem:

I have been doing yardwork,
Been rolling up my sleeves,
My family needs a raking
'Cause everybody leaves.

Can I just say, here and now, that a good thick split pea soup is one of the best comfort foods ever??

That give me an idea for a new book!

And I like navy bean soup, too. No ham bone.

First they were saying we might get rain on Thanksgiving; now they are saying it may hit tomorrow. It is getting cloudy, but I don't have a headache yet.

If it were raining now, you wouldn't have to be doing yard work.

I have been pulling out the shrubs to make room for wildflowers. The last day to get the seeds in is Thanksgiving. And since it is going to rain ...

DR Elmore and others - an email from my friend John in London:

"On BBC here too they are showing the new adaptation of Little Dorrit - it is brilliant, with a great cast including Tom Courtenay, Judy Parfitt, Mathew McFadden and loads more.  Watch out for it down there."
