TOM TURKEY RAN AWAY BUT HE JUST CAME HOME
« on: November 26, 2008, 10:25:53 PM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with the spirit of Thanksgiving, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're just grateful that it's the turkey's day for being eaten.

I must to bed - can't keep my eyes open anymore.  I shall dream of turkeys (and you know who you are).

I guess I'll just stay home and listen to the cast album of White Christmas.  Sounds more fulfilling.

OVERHEARD IN NEW YORK:

White guy: Hi, I'd like a pork bun please.
Chinese bun saleswoman: Chicken bun?
White guy: Uh, no, a pork bun please.
Chinese bun saleswoman: Chicken bun?
White guy: Um, no. (points at pork bun) I'd like a pork bun. Pork.
Chinese bun saleswoman: Oh. (pause) Chicken bun?
White guy: Yes. Chicken bun.
Chinese bun saleswoman: Two dollar.

So what's this thanksgiving bit all about?

Is it some sort of corroboree?

A big " thank you" (always two words in my book!) for all the support and prayers from HHW during my recent (current) health issues.  The good news is that there is no bad news!

Status Quo! (not the Rock group).  No further action or whatever until more tests in early February. A "Wait and Watch" approach is the only possibility at the moment.

The church where I work did not do the Pilgrim renactment thing this year.

I did not have to wear a rented costume and lead the thing.

I was most Thankful for that.

The Spencer Ross tune "Thanksgiving Day Parade" was the "b" side of the wonderful "Tracey's Theme" way back in 1960.  That was probably the first reference I had to Thanksgiving. (I think the tune was from "Miracle on 34th Street").

And I shall admit publically that I do not care for "Turkey Lurky Time" nor the musical whence it came. I do however like the Dionne Warwick versions of four of the songs from the show.

I received my special edition of "Wicked" today.  I'm not however, going down the DR George Yellow Brick road to the German and Japanese versions etc.
