Here's the Sandy Duncan-Julie Andrews version of "The Last Blues Song" - staging seems very Fosse-influenced

Greetings gang.

We will head out to the Post Office then to visit our friend Alfred.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and then we watched Enchanted. What great fun and as Jose said, it was even more fun picking out the New York Theatre People doing small roles. Helen Stenborg (Dear friend of Dear Larry) was at the Ball at the end of the film.

I must be off for my morning abloutions. Then it's out and about.

Good morning, all! I got home from Thanksgiving dinner to find a message from beloved goddaughter Charlotte, whom I miss enormously, so this morning we spoke. I will definitely see her but her schedule until Sunday morning is quite booked already. We may try to a movie tomorrow; ourchoices are either RACHEL AT THE WEDDING, which is at 85th and First Avenue or WERE THE WORLD MINE, which is on 12th Street and Fifth Avenue. She will be getting back to me later on whether either can fit into her day of "museum hopping."

As for me, today's occupied with Frank Loesser. physical therapy at 12:30, a trek to my storage space, and toting back several more cartons of things.

DR singdaw, BK's weight loss puts me to shame, but I'm too lazy to apply myself so strenuously as he does. His efforts and the results are amazing and I applaud him. At the rate I'm going, it will be another six months till I'm where I would like to be.

No problems reading the notes this morning.  (Just couldn't access them last night for some reason.)

Is BK aware that several shows have special matinees today, because of the holiday weekend?

Good morning!

Looks a little overcast right now, but the temp rpomises to get into the low 60s today which would be great.

I'm planning to go out on my usual Friday errands today despite its being Black Friday.

After I finished reading the newspaper this morning, I settled back into the home theater to finish LOST. I still had four bonus featurettes to watch, but got them finished and the review completed. Seems like it took longer than it actually did.

I wish today was Black Friday here.

Boxing Day (the busiest shopping day of the year here) is my favorite shopping day of the year!

I don't think there is anything on tv for me tonight. I see there are 2 Ghost Whisperer episodes from last season.

I did remember there are matinees today - I'm going to the fitness room around eleven, and if I feel like it I may head to the theater district around twelve-thirty and see what's what.

I'm going to go clean up a little earlier than usual, so I can get out on the road and get my errands finished as soon as possible.

Good morning, everyone.

Great pics from DR FJL's Thanksgiving do! I second Singdaw's comment that Larry looks great.

I called downstairs and asked them if they could adjust the temperature in the exercise room - we'll see if they do by the time I'm down there.

I don't think I'll matinee today, as I've got a few too many things to do, including going over the rehearsal scheds for Sunday night and Monday's sound check, and a whole slew of telephonic calls to make.

Media check:

DVD: MONARCH OF THE GLEN (Season 7)  I love that show!
VCR: HEARTBEAT (the Yorkshire Television show that one of my Canadian friends tapes for me, then sends)
CD:  SCENT OF MYSTERY (which I find delightful)

I'd planned to watch the first of the NOEL COWARD collection last night, but my Netflix copy was damaged.

BTW, I too saw WALL-E recently and thought it was marvelous. I think it should be seen by all beginning acting students--the robots convey so much emotion!

bk - One of the last places I would head to today would be Times Square - and I sort of like crowds.  I'd also stay away from the Fifth Avenue Apple Store - although, I would probably just walk by it to see what the crowds are like.

*Of course, Apple's annual Black Friday sale isn't really much of a sale - at least in regards to their computers and iPods. However, some of the software details aren't too bad this year.

And in the spirit of DR DER BRUCER... ;) :-\

Actually, this is truly tragic story, and a good reason to stay away from the Black Friday Sales.

I was one of the fortunate few who received an e-mail from Amazon yesterday telling them they qualified to participate in "the race" for day 1 of the 6-day special bargains.  At stake:  A Blu-ray bundle consisting of to BD DVDs, a Play Station 3 with remote and joystick.  List price $567.  Bargain price: $199.  I was logged on at the special page by 6 a.m. and ready for bear.  As the final second ticked off at 6:30 a.m. (there was a countdown clock), the "Buy it now" button activated.  I clicked and was whisked to the checkout page.  The price listed there was $567.

Aughghghghghgh.  I went back and did it again.  And waited and waited and waited...and waited as all 500 units were bought out from under me.

Lesson learned.  I guess.....

I have, however, bought a Blu-ray player at an agreeable (sub-$200) price.
