COUNTDOWN TO BACHARACH TO THE FUTURE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with turkey and stuffing, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're trying to figure out the rhythm scheme of Promises, Promises right now.

Well...

Hmmm...

I think I was still listening to the music I started listening to last week.

Right now I'm watching and listening to Helen Reddy singing "The Last Blues Song" as shown on The Flip Wilson Show in 1973, interestingly two years before CHICAGO opened on Broadway.  I see similarities, though I'm sure they're coincidence.

We spent Thanksgiving with my brother's girlfriend's family -- we had met her sister and brother in law before but had not met her parents (who were hosting the partay)

What absolutely lovely people - within minutes we felt as if we had known them forever

They had cooked TWO huge turkeys as well as having all the trimmings and there were a total of 11 of us...  when we left  we each left a with a  huge shopping bag full of leftovers --   so we get to have a  left over day tonight !

Here's the Sandy Duncan-Julie Andrews version of "The Last Blues Song" - staging seems very Fosse-influenced

And the word of the day is: MISCIBLE!
Miss Sibyl should have predicted that she wouldn't find a mate at the mixer - the dress code posted at the door stated that leather was absolutely required, and that high heels were inadMISCIBLE.

TOD

I've finished watching the Doctor Who Series Four DVD set - great conclusion to the four years, for once not ending with a cliffhanger - and have started on the Classic Doctor Who story The Invisible Enemy, the 93rd serial (for those who keep count).  Watch out, Leela, the Doctor's posessed and you are in mortal danger!
