Last night, we had rehearsal on the set for the first time.  We got through the show fairly well.  Today, we're singing a couple of songs at a couple of bookstores as a preview!  We're going on tour...not quite, but almost. ;) Then tomorrow, we start adding costumes and props. :)

DR George - it always amazes me how [seemingly] short your rehersal period is.  Opening night is always here before you know it.

I'm up and about to go down the hall and get breakfast and then get on the road.  I'm a little concerned that we may hit ice and snow around Kansas City, I'm hoping it stays warm enough that it's just rain.   It's going to snow in Joplin. Mo...but not until tongiht.

DR JOSE - I watched LANTANA on one of the film channels, but I am not sure if it was IFC or SUNDANCE.....and I checked both of their sites and it's not listed on either for the rest of the month....check ON DEMAND and see if it's there.

Barbara Hershey was beautiful.  And Anthony LaPaglia was very effective in his part....as was the whole cast.  Interesting film.

Good morning, all!  I hope to get more work finished on Frank Loesser this morning before goddaughter Charlotte and I run down to the Village to see WERE THE WORLD MINE, a gay indy musical based (sorta) on A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.  Since I may miss her entirely at Christmas, it will be great to see her today and I am looking forward to it.

After that, I may run down to my storage space and lug home a couple of cartons of things; I'm really enjoying the space I now have.

DR Nursie, I think the news about Craig's engagement is fantastic! What's the next step in the international legalities?

I'm up, I'm up, to a whole slew of panic e-mails about our Monday sound check sched.  Not sure why it's the way it is, but it's requiring that we're starting on hour earlier than planned and coming out ten minutes after we should be finished.  We have one less number here than in the benefit last year, and we started a half-hour later last year and finished earlier.  I'm working it out.

I think this morning I will take Jose's advice - not go faster, not go a full fifty minutes, and just do my usual four or so miles that I do in LA.

I mentioned "Turkey Lurkey Time" under the Bacharach press release on All That Chat.  If that doesn't get ATC people to the benefit, what will?  :)

Surprise, Surprise.... Not...

Rosie O'Donnell Variety Show Will Not Continue

No surprise at all. The show got universal pans and, worst of all as far as NBC is concerned, finished third in the time period behind BONES and the CBS comedies.

After I read three reviews, all of them hating the show and savaging the format, I didn't even watch it, deleting it form my DVR.

I think there is a market for a good variety show with acts people want to see and a host that people find ingratiating. This wasn't it.

Good morning!

The rains came. The cloud cover kept temperatures relatively moderate for late November, but it's a damp, dreary day outside. Rain is supposed to start and stop throughout the day. A good day to be inside.

Tonight on HBO-HD is CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR from last year. I never saw it either in the theater or on DVD/Blu-ray, so I'm looking forward to it. Not sure if I'll watch it "live." Will more likely set the DVR to record it and watch it when I finish THE THIRD MAN on Blu-ray and get things sorted out with some other items.

While I eat lunch today, I'll finally get around to last Sunday's episode of DEXTER. I can't believe it's taken me all week to watch it as it's gearing up for the season's final few episodes.

I have to be careful eating Thai food as even the mildest dishes are often on the verge of being too spicy for me. As for Chinese, well, there aren't many Chinese dishes that I DON'T like.

I'm curious if most people have put up their outdoor Christmas lights yet? (or if others in the neighborhood have).  It's odd but i hardly see any houses here lit up so far. And i'm not sure if it's because it's only snowed once. Or if people just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Also i wonder if more people in the US put up their trees now because of Thanksgiving.

I don't have a tree. But I just can't imagine putting it up so early.

Last night I was reading my niece some books i took out for her from the library. When i was done she asked if i could read one of her books.

So i turned my back to her to find it. I could not find it. But after about 2 minutes i did. And i turned around and she was sleeping!  (she never does this but i guess since she did not take a nap she must have been tired).
