This was always one of my favorite record logos.....I don't know what it is supposed to be....but it was very imaginative and forward looking.

And speaking of Amazon.com... ;)

Have any other DRs not been receiving e-mail notifications that their orders have been processed and shipped?

I did notice something funny about two shipments last week that arrived unannounced.  Must be that new computer system Amazon recently started using.

I learned one thing this past weekend--before you order anything on the innernet, check to see if there is a coupon code posted somewhere or other.  I was about to put through an order for a rather pricey item on the National Geographic site when a friend who was looking over my shoulder told me I should Google for a coupon code.  Sure enough, I found one for 20% off!

It never hurts to look.

Well DR DtM - with artists on the roster that included Eydie Gorme, Paul Anka, Tommy Roe, Jimmy Velvet, The Rover Boys, Curly Putman, Dave McKenna, AND Stan Wolowic and the Polka Chips....that probably should have been the motto.

TOD - I also made the first of my big moves 40 years ago when I went to Ann Arbor for my freshman year at The University of Michigan.  The separation was eased by the fact that during the summer after my high school graduation my parents moved out of the house I'd grown up in - in fact, when I got home from freshman orientation my bed was gone!

Then, a little over 35 years ago I moved from Michigan to Middletown, Ohio, to accept my first professional librarian position in the Miami University library there.  Little did I imagine that I'd still be living there when just a few weeks away from retirement.

Now I must sign off and get ready to go celebrate my birthday by having my head eyes examined.

Bye for now!

Back from the long jog, which was slightly pathetic today in its slowness.  I had too much on my mind.

Even though TOP CHEF was 1 hour 15 on Bravo. It was only scheduled for 1 hour here (food network). But they either cut off the last 1-2 minutes. Or else they went over.

So i had the 6 of them standing there and then ...

I read about it just now on televisionwithoutpity.

I'm curious who people's favorite chefs are.

I love fabio. I think stefan is good but annoying. I like jeff. One person who i thought would be out in the first few shows, who i did not care for and now love is ariane. I think jamie is good and will go far, but not crazy about her attitude sometimes. I love little eugene. And i like hosea. Not crazy about: melissa (she should have gone home last week), radhika (just doesn't seem that great and is sort of boring), leah, carla (she seems nice, but not the greatest chef).ufpouafuopdsafuospfu opdsaufosaufoau fdafdsa

No, I've gotten a shipping notice for everything I've bought in recent memory.

Why no UGLY BETTY tonight??

Some shows are done until 2009. Others have one more new episode before the second half of the season starts in 2009. It varies by show.

It continued raining during lunch, but it looks like the clouds are parting finally and I see some slivers of blue sky amid those clouds.

I was very disappointed that THE DARK KNIGHT did not arrive in the mail today. Thus, tonight I'll watch the Blu-ray of IRON MAN. I've only seen it in sDVD when I reviewed it and one other time I watched it, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much of an improvement the added picture resolution and the lossless soundtrack will be to the movie.

The review copy of THE WOMEN did arrive. I'll get to it this weekend.

When I got in, I watched last night's CSI: NY. A good episode, and I enjoyed it. There was some really excellent special effects work with the three lab techs on top of the Empire State Building, and with the height of the camera shooting down, I got some distinct scares of a fear of falling. HD adds so much enjoyment to the viewing experience.

Next, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS.

Yep, the boys and Brian were on. I thought we might get some interesting May-December stuff going on since Luke had been jilted and Brian was drunk and needy, but it didn't quite happen.

And I finished the afternoon rewatching a favorite CLOSER episode from last season, the one with Brenda in the car being shot and later being guarded by Roy and Chad. This also introduced her father into the series. It's a great episode.

And the killer was played by one of the new heroes introduced this season on the show (the one who had blue flames in his hands.)
