Next, I watched VANTAGE POINT on Blu-ray. What a whiz-bang, cracking good thriller! At 90 minutes, it didn't rest for a second. It's one of those mosaic-type films where you get little pieces of the puzzle until you finally get the entire story. I really enjoyed it, and the Blu-ray was superb: very sharp with great color, and the Dolby TrueHD really had the windows rattling!

Next, in respect for Ray Bolger, I put in THE WIZARD OF OZ and watched beginning with the color portion up to the raid on the castle by the three friends and Toto. I'll likely finish it tomorrow.

CHUCK had another terrific episode tonight which makes two weeks in a row they've knocked it out of the park. I do wish this show were more popular. Though NBC did renew the show for the rest of the season, I fear it won't get a season three if the ratings don't pick up.

As for HEROES' midseason finale, I found much of it anticlimactic and was just glad for it to be over. I really found much of it a muddle and not very engaging, so I'm hoping the next volume - "Villains" - will be a significent improvement.

With no review discs coming in today, looks like I'm going to have another day off tomorrow. Good! I can start wrapping Christmas presents during my afternoon viewing.

MBarnum, I was very afraid that I would have to drive in the snow in Maine. Luckily, the day of the doctor appointment was just rainy, not icy. I have never driven in snow.

You just slow down and leave lots of room between you and the car in front of you. And you start stopping a long way before the stop sign

Oh and don't stop going up hill if you can avoid it. Get your speed up at the bottom and pray...I think DR Jane explained that method last night

I very much enjoy all three versions of LITTLE WOMEN, but I guess the June Allyson one is my fave, mostly because it was the first one I saw.

It went up to 67 here in New Jersey today.  I planted some tulip and daffodil bulbs.

Tonight I put some corn out for the squirrels and seed out for the birds.  I came in the house and looked out to find 3 deer (maybe 4) in my yard eating the corn and the seeds.  It was only 6:00 P.M. and I am in town, so i was a bit concerned about them.   I knew I've had deer because they've left lots of tracks in the snow, but I didn't expect to see them.

I shut off all the lights and raised the shades and the girls and I watched them until the walked up the hill and behind the neighbors house

I don't mind feeding the deer, but good grief, there are a lot of cars around here.  I'm afraid they will be hit by a car

I took a couple photos.  I don't know if they turned out very well. I had to do time exposure so I didn't scare them away.  I'll post them later

We don't get them here. I saw one in California last month, though.

I can't believe I have become addicted to SCRAMBLE on Facebook.  It took me days to tie DR Sandra, but I finally did it.  I must stop playing it every night and do something productive!!

To night I watched Truman Capote's A CHRISTMAS MEMORY.  I'll take some time in the next dew days to read the actual short story, too.  It's fun to hear Capote's voice as you read passages that were lifted directly from the prose to the telemovie script.

It's there. I just started playing it this week. I wish it had been lawsuited away, lol

It's -5 degrees outside right now.  OK, I have to admit...I LOVE winter.  I really do. I was smiling all the way home tonight.  It doesn't hurt that I now fit into my cool pink down coat with the matching pink hat, scarf and gloves.

Just got home from a day at the thee=ayter, then a waltz around Costco - jeez - must be Christmas or something, whatta zoo.... and now I'm stabbing at a costco roasted chicken with a fork - didn't even cut it and put it in a dish - just yanked the top plastic off and started gnawing on whatever the fork hit. Mmmmm....

What was confusing was that my high school typing teacher was a graduate student at the college i went to, so it was odd running into a former teacher in  a place where she was a fellow student.
