I suspect because they are greeted with righteous indigestion.

Choristers from the Salisbury Cathedral Choir light candles as they leave the vestry to practice ahead of the midnight service that will be held in the Cathedral marking Christmas Eve on December 23, 2008 in Salisbury, England. It will be the 750th year that Christmas has been celebrated in the cathedral after it was dedicated in 1258. It is thought that the foundation of the choir stretches back even further with evidence of the foundation of a song school in Salisbury as early as the 11th century. By Matt Cardy/Getty.

Seems the young squires were in sing school when they should have been out protecting Harold's eye!

der Brucer

How many songs did Singdaw sing when Singdaw sang in song school?

Good morning, all! I've not caught up from yesterday but I will when I return from my errands. I'm off to Fed Ex, then back here to pack up.

I wanted to like the television series PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES, but Patricia Crowley wasn't a good choice for the Mom......and she kept calling the kids by their real names instead of their character names in big scenes of chaos.....

I liked seeing my production of ALL MY SONS last summer......except for the ONE problem actor.  That made it mostly painful......

This is very nearly, most assuredly, almost absolutely my last 2008 post from Johnston SC.

I'm packed, for the most part, and am trying to relax a bit before we start our drive to Columbia SC.

My aunt either will or won't be coming with us, dependent upon a couple of factors -- the men who will install new blinds (today, tomorrow or ?) and my cousin Rick, the dentist, whom my aunt hopes can see her today or tomorrow for a lost filling.  If neither happens today, she'll ride along.

TRAVEL VIBES appreciated.

Also,

So far so good.  I turned the water on this morning and nothing sounded like it was dripping in the shower area.   I also called the plumber.  He'll come out at 10:00 AM and look at it to see if he needs to send someone out to fix it right away or where we go from here.

DR JMK, The biggest problem with an insert will be that the walls and floor aren't square or level (like the rest of the basement).  It's a shower someone tiled themselves, or they hired a lousy contractor to put it in. I could see putting in some of the premade walls or possibly an insert if there is a way to do it, but first I'm hoping they can save the tile and go in from the wall in the room behind the shower.

TOD

Even though I am a season behind in watching but David Tennant's performance as the Doctor in the Doctor Who series continues to amaze me. The writers have given depth and character and emotion to a character that I felt was lacking in all the incarnations. I am NOT looking forward to his departure and was hoping a healthy pay raise might entice him to stay but that won't happen. :-[
