Just found the box of capes and Spandex/tights in the HHW costume closet -- all kinds of choices -- Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Rubber Band Man or Mr. Elastic or whatever he's called, Captain Atom, Captain Canuck (from Canada ... DR Jennifer?) or his spoof Captain Canucklehead, The Flash, Huntress, Green Lantern, Super Commando Dhruva (from India -- bet DR Mikey is gonna want that one, right, Mikey?) -- of course, we could also custom make some like The Enabler or The Temptress with a giant Levain cookie logo ... the sky is the limit ...

I call dibs on Green Lantern!

As far back as I can remember, Green Lantern was always my favorite superhero.  I remember that as a kiddie, his costume just screamed "Super Hero!" to me (among other things, I'm sure...)

I claim "Wonder Woman"...if it's like this!  DR Jason used to use it as his avatar!  I LOVE IT!! ;D

I have a computer question. And i was wondering if someone here new a simple answer.

I'm using a widescreen computer monitor.

I have a lot of pictures saved on my computer (and disks). But now i am not seeing them in their proper dimensions. They are all stretched.

Is there a simple way i can view them?

Thanks to anyone who wants to attempt to explain this. :)

Just open up and start the picture software you're using and click on "Help".

We watched the motion picture Stardust last night, not having seen it before or knowing anything about it.

It was fun!    :)

DR Jose i tried that.

Actually i think i may have found an answer. Although i'm not sure i completely understand it.

I found this question (which is my question):

I have a 22 wide screen monitor. Is there a simple way of viewing my pictures normally (not stretched) without opening them in any of the photoediting softwares. Thanks.

And this answer:

A usual widescreen monitor's aspect ratio is 16:9.

Therefore, you have to change your display resolution to something in line with 16:9 such as 1600x900. 1280x768, 1360x768 or 1280x800 might also do.

If you are using a Windows OS, you can change resolution by right-clicking a blank space on your desktop then left-click properties to go to Display Control Panel. A window will load and click the Settings tab found above. In settings, you can see screen resolution. Choose desired resolution and finalize it by clicking OK.

It's under Personalization if you have Vista, then it's at the bottom of the next page that comes up after you click that.

DR Dakota, thanks for asking about the girls. They are fine. They are chasing each other around the house at the moment.

Oy i found the control panel/display/ and settings. And when i changed it to 1600/900 it worked for the pictures but turned everything else i do on the computer all weird.

So i may have to play around with it. Unless i did something wrong.

YES!  We all get an EXTRA SECOND!

Do you have a date? ;)

I'm not sure yet, actually.  I've been invited to a few parties, but part of me just wants to camp out in front of the TV here, watch Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on CNN, and head to bed around 1:00am.

*And since tomorrow's weather forecast is calling for snow in the morning turning to rain in the afternoon, coupled with below-freezing temps, well, sounds like a good day for cocooning.  By myself or otherwise. ;)

I finally found it. On my computer it's under control panel/display. But it made everything else all small and weird. :(

You may have to adjust the amount of "real estate" on your display/monitor in order to find a happy medium.  -Just check the buttons and dials on the monitor itself, and just start stretching and shrinking things horizontally and vertically.

I love to stay home New Year's Eve.  I should make myself a nice dinner - just not sure what to have. I still have plenty of points left....

I do want to wall paper two walls in the basement hall - not much to do at all, it'll probably take me about 30 minutes, but the wall isn't in good shape there and it looked good before to have one side wall paper and once side paint, so I'll do it.  I also want to get started on the basement bathroom.  I can easily get the paint done and if I'm lucky I can get the wall paper in there done too.  That would be way cool.  Then when the shower is fixed it will be faboo!!!

And a date at home who would wallpaper your basement would be even nicer.

Interesting article......but a LOT of problems with SOME theaters are exactly what is mentioned in passing in that one sentence....

".....problems with management and governance......"

Libby Appel anyone?  What theater is she destroying now?

She is retired.

Thanks, DR JANE.  That makes one less thing for me to worry about.
