Ugh--Laura Bush...

She handled herself better on stage than did Carolyn Kennedy.

der Brucer

True, but that's just my initial reaction to any of the Bushes.  Ugh!

Why does Carolyn Kennedy walk so manly when in heels?

Well.. you know, I think she walks that way because, umm.. You know.. it's just the way she, you know, walks.  I mean, you know..

LOL

I don't know why I'm all wired up tonight, but I am.  After my long day yesterday and with all the running of errands I did today I should be half asleep by now.

I think the last time I watched the Kennedy Center Honors was when they had Bette Davis.

A confessed guilty pleasure:  last week I heard that remixed version of Ella Fitzgerald's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" for the first time and...I liked it.  The rhythm is all wrong, the phrasing becomes all overwrought and it's just sacrilegious to touch Ella.  But it's was a fun take on a classic.

Very strange--he is another actor who I could swear I had read his obituary years ago.

Where did you get this story?  I couldn't find it on-line and I called AP and they don't have it.

Pat was one of my very first publicity clients and has been a friend for over 40 years.

For Jane - who prefers her animal pictures pre-platter:

Berlin's Tierpark (that translates to "animal park," kids) welcomed 13 Chinese Meishan piglets on Sunday.  The Meishan breed, not surprisingly, is known for its wrinkled skin and long ears.

Are these the long-awaited exceptions that prove the "all-baby-animals-are-adorable" rule?  Perhaps.

I just finished rewriting a scene David had sent me - it's a John scene, so I just had to make it more "John" - it's really fun, though, and is much better than its corresponding scene from the film.  Also, we now have to make a really difficult decision, one I've been wrestling with since the very beginning - whether to lose Arvin, the boyfriend character of the Diana Canova role.  It's a one-joke part and right now it has to even be played by someone in the ensemble, I think - David wants to lose it and I'm beginning to think my instinct was right and that we should.  It would make a lot of things easier, actually.  It's this constant tightrope of keeping stuff I know people really like from the movie, but still making the musical its own thing.

But BK, you need a Blu-Ray players to get proper sky colors from Warner Home Video DVDs. Don't you want Blu skies for The Searchers?

Alright, I wonder which female singers are gonna have the nerve to pay tribute to La Striesand?

She didn't sing, but did you notice that they showed Rebecca Luker in the audience several times?  They only showed the side of Danny Burstein's head.
