So Der B what do you think would happen if Obama gave an executive order as head of the armed forces (assuming such a thing is legally possible) that no form of discrimination may be practiced in the armed forces for reason of sexual orientation?


Do other nations still have bans against gay soldiers/sailors etc.....?

 I have never seen the play so I am not sure how it ends

 ( I mean obviously I know what really happened to Anne and her family, I am just not sure at what point in the story the play ends )

Well, gelatin plants are usually near slaughter houses, so....

I wonder if our vegitarian friends know the following contain meat by-products:

Jello
Powdered Milk (not just the dairy part)
Merinque
Taffy
Marshallow
Fondant (use in cake decorating)

Slow morning.  I decided to make the difficult decision I had to make - which is, I'm afraid, to cancel the upcoming Kritzerland limited edition of Lady Oscar.  We hit a last-minute legal snag and while I'm basically in the right, I don't want to deal with bullies - it's simply not worth it.  I don't make enough money on these for it to be worth any hassles at all.  So, we're moving on to the release that was slated to follow that, and I'm hoping we can have it ready to announce in about two weeks.  I've got everyone working overtime on it.

That's too bad, BK.  Maybe in the future it all might work out.

Well, now that I've finally caught up, I'm leaving.  We're all having dinner at my parents' house (I don't know what) and I need to be there very soon.

I have several things programmed on my DRV to record...hopefully, they all will record.  Sometimes the DRV just doesn't record something that has been set to be recorded.

Those planes aren't very big.  Before Craig flew Yogi from Bucharest he didn't really appreciate my driving him from DC to Pittsburgh.  After the flight he REALLY appreciated I wouldn't let him put Yogi on one more flight, especially when it would have been on a smaller plane.

I find it amazing if your wife never found out in all the years after.

The security issue boggles my mind.  It has always seemed to me the need to have a "dual" identity makes an employer a greater risk to be blackmailed to give up information.

PS Apparently I was the last to find out that everybody in my Philly family was already pretty sure of the score.

That is funny.  I know I wouldn't ask the question.  I figure if the person want to tell fine.  I imagine asking & you are wrong would be worse than asking a woman if she is pregnant when she isn't.

 Many years ago I ran into a old school mate at a party.  She had been married about a year - she was wearing one of those high waisted dresses, where the waist is right below the bust line and she definitely had a big round belly under there..  I then congratulated her on her preganancy...of course she was not!  


Since then I vowed never to congratulate a woman on her pregnancy unless she personally told me she was.
 

 

Years ago we were out to dinner with the boys.  While we waited to be seated I happened to mention to a woman, waiting near us, something about her baby.  The rest of the evening we spent arguing if I had insulted her or not.  I of course insisted not.

They keep breaking into the TV shows to show the mayors of New York and New Jersey congratulating the rescuers and they keep showing the same clips over and over


I heard they are planning on lifting the whole plane up on to a barge tomorrow and taking it somewhere to be examined.   They are trying to find the engines, both of which fell off during the ordeal.


I wonder if the passengers will get their (soggy) luggage back.  

I find it interesting reading.  I hope we find out about the luggage.

They've already alerted the authorities in NYC that if anyone happens to find a piece of luggage washed up on the shoreline of the Hudon River, they are to call 311 to make sure it is turned over over to the NTSB.  Otherwise, after all the luggage has been inspected, it will be returned to the respective owners.

Oh... And from all the reports I've read, there were no pet casualties yesterday.  -Mainly because there were no pets on board.  -At least that's what one of the latest reports said.

Back from the meeting and I ate a Subway sandwich for the meal.  I have lots of fun little snacks around here, but for now I think I'll write another page or two before settling in with some motion picture on DVD.

From what "they" have said, all the luggage should still be on the plane.  However, there's probably some stuff from the cabin and overhead bins floating or sinking in the Hudson.

Yeah, everyone did as they were told, and did not take anything with them - except for purses and cellphones, of course.

My DS used to get croup in the wintertime. It's scary when your baby can't breathe.

I grew up with horrible bronchial ailments.  Unfortunately my mother was a Registered Nurse and was convinced that slathering on inches of Vicks Vap-o-rub was the answer to my problems, abetted by a nonstop vaporizer and, worst of all, her sleeping with me.  My mother snored like no one you've ever heard (my father ended up getting a separate bedroom when they built their "dream house" just for that very reason).  So I have horrid memories of sticking to my pajamas in a fetid room with my mother buzz-sawing next to me.  Pressed between the pages of my mind.

A BIG THANKYOU to Edisaurus!  I am now the proud owner of a bell - not just any bell though, it's one of those desk bells that you see the hotel managers ringing when they want a bellhop's attention.

I love it!!  It got quite a workout this afternoon.

The Vixter asks "Edi, what did I ever do to you?"

Tell the Vixter I'll make it up her one day when we can all enjoy being "enabled" together again in NY!

I only saw cellphones.  Aside from my fannyback around my waist I like to keep my purse strapped over me, if I can get away with doing it.
