That is of course BK dinner party comrade and Frances Farmer co-star Norman Lloyd dangling from Ms. Liberty.

Charlie Waggenheim, who played the assassin in FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT, was my very first publicity client.

In today's notes, our esteemed BK mentioned

Quote
...a show called Stormy Weather about Lena Horne, starring Miss Leslie Uggams.

All I can say is that this sounds like going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

And the word of the day is: STEATOPYGIA!

Something I no longer have a problem with.

Every time Fran visited Fire Island, she would camp herself at the house with the GAYEST PATIO, because she knew none of the housemates would comment on her STEATOPYGIA... at least to her face.

But Leslie's incomparable rendering of Stormy Weather's lyric is not to be missed:

Don't know why
There's no friml zigger shy
Blorm together
Snits memento fly a pimento
It's June!  June!  June!

I'm up, I'm up.  Last night, the weather person reported that we would have the rains back this morning making commutes horrible.  Naturally, the sky is bright blue, no clouds and, wait for it, no rain.

As soon as I'm more awake, I'll go put some gas in my car, do the short errand, and then jog.  Then I'll mosey on over to Druxy's, and then come home and write.

Odd, I'd have thought it would have been HALLELUJAH, I'M A BUM!

I quite liked it, too.    :)   Well, the recording, at any rate - didn't see it on the stage.

Perhaps you're thinking of the little-known sequel:  HALLELUJAH, I'VE A BUM!

...
Every skater ever interviewed about the subject has said that winning a national title is far more nerve-wracking than winning at worlds. I guess skating in front of your countrymen makes it more tension-filled. Of course, the worlds are in LA this year, so the skaters will STILL be skating in front of their countrymen.

Not necessarily.  Having travelled, and now living elsewhere, I can safely say that LA is not just another country, but often a different planet.

Didja all know that there's another THE AMAZING RACE scheduled this season starting on Feb 15?  It's about time they went back to twice a year with this show.

Warning--that webpage takes forever to load!

I'm really not interested in getting involved in another series right now

Is that why you do not include THE BIG BANG THEORY and/or WORST WEEK on your Monday viewing?

But we already HAVE our copy!

If I may recommend a place for a late lunch/early dinner post signage, I'd suggest Jax Bar & Grill, just up the Boulevard and across the street at 339 N. Brand.  It's a nice, wood-paneled joint with good food at decent prices.  Der B and I used to eat there fairly often, back when I was working in Glendale.
