I'm watching a repeat of the arrivals and they just showed Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn, so she was with him tonight

Who were the protester that Penn was referring to?

Anti-gay protesters who didn't want MILK to win anything.

Sadly, here was a Fred Phelps contingent there tonight. :-\

I've been in a show that was picketed by his followers too.

Now I am going to sign off. I knew they showed him arriving with a date, so I was curious who it was.  They were holding hands and looked very friendly

I once held Burle Ives Oscar. I found on the floor in one of the rooms in the Billy Rose Collection at the NYPL. It was being used as a door stop!

No one at the library knew why it was there.

Sheesh... the indignity of it alll

Someone had to explain to me what Ben Stiller was doing. I thought it was very unfunny.

He was spoofing Joaquin Phoenix who recently appeared on David Letterman like that and proved to be a rather difficult and disconnected interview.

And how many people who don't watch Letterman got what he was doing? Why did they let him do it?

The clip was shown on lots of other shows, and it even made the "entertainment news" portion of some local network newscasts.

Yep, and she was seated next to him during the ceremony.  -And kept cutting to her during his speech... and again... and again... ;)

AARRGGHH!!  I'm burning a DVD with Nero using an avi file.  It's burning (and hopefully will actually work as a DVD), but the 82 minute file will take over 2 hours to burn. :-\

he and his daughter were banned from the UK when they tried to go there and protest I think at a funeral. They were banned because they used hate in their speaches and UK doesn't allow it.

DR DakotaCelt - The Rev. Fred Phelps is not a "nutcase".  "Nutcase" implies that he has or had some sort of redeeming value.  He is a very vile, dangerous - and sadly still influential - hate-monger.

I was trying to use a freindly word.... I can think of a few for this man but they are not to be placed on a family board

There is no redemption but the word I wanted to use would not have been appropriate

I would not mind putting a lot of good music.. .some broadway, adult contemporary, classic 80s, film music, and some light classic

Some of the artists i would like to put on one are Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, and several others

Who did "write" the music for tonight's ceremony? -well, for that opening number. :-\

Well, he did manage to attempt a rhyme with "excrement" and "sentiment".
