A RHYMING FOOL

Well, you've read the notes, the notes rhymed and were foolish, and now it is time for you to post until the rhyming cows come home, never more to roam.

I know nothing about this...personally.

To BK, re how a title can be shipped that has nothing to do with the title ordered:

Many times, the titles have nothing to do with how the orders are filled.  Instead, an order number is used by the warehouse.

If a couple of numbers get transposed, it is easy for someone working in the warehouse to fill an order with the wrong item.  Easy peasey.

Of course, it would help if the warehousemen were to cross-check the number with the title being ordered.  And easy peasey.  But that would require someone at the warehouse level taking the time to care about what they are doing.  Sorry, I don't work at every store, nor at every warehouse.  This wouldn't have happened on my shift.

I hope you get the title you originally ordered, without too much fuss.  At least you're getting a freebie, which is a good thing... I hope.

And the word of the day is: PROTHALAMION!

When Eric met Henry, they tarried
And took all their time to get married.
Then Prop 8 came along
And ruined their song
And their civil rights ended miscarried.

Yesterday,  Ron P wrote the following:

Quote

I'd either go back to the Age of Pericles in ancient Greece, or I'd travel with the army of Alexander.  I'd love to have been able to find out how they knew some of the things they knew.

Well, Ron, the song "Doin' What Comes Nat'churly" comes to mind.   ;D

Workies, early again.

Time to give der B first notice about needing a ride in to the store - it's too dark to try walking.

Because he didn't read the invoice to see the gift message.

Good morning, all! I had to be up early to get to Toyland ASAP. I've got edits to drop off and some questions to check out. I also need to run next door to my accountant and asee whar's going on with New York Stare Income Tax.

After that, back here for other work: either Jerome Moross or Frank Loesser, maybe both.

No, DR Ben, I won't be moving to Dallas.  For now, the new company will maintain three offices: in Pleasanton CA [near San Francisco], Dallas, and Connecticut.  We just don't know WHERE in Connecticut we may be moving too.

Since I'm the only one in my group in Connecticut, although there will be others in our office, I'll be reporting into a boss in Dallas.

This little snippet actually got a nice reaction on ATC, and by nice reaction i mean Alan Gomberg said he liked it :) , so i thought some here might enjoy it, and that i'd preserve it for googlability:

One role to be living for
One role to be living for

Wednesday morning greetings!  Today is the second try for my aunt's trip to the optometrist to order new glasses (boy, is she in for a shock!).  She's going to call me after her Meals-on-Wheels delivery guy leaves.

I am a happy camper!  I just found and downloaded a copy of THE WORLD OF TOMORROW, one of my favorite documentaries of all time!  This one tells the story of the 1939 New York World's Fair through both newsreel film and home movies taken by the family of Jason Robards, who also narrates.  I've been waiting in vain for years for this to be released to DVD (I have a VHS recording of a truncated 60 minute PBS broadcast made in the 80s.)  I can't wait to see it again--Joy!
