WHAT'S WHAT

Well, you've read the notes, the notes said what's what, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're trying to figure out what's what.

We heard about our new benefits package yesterday.  There was wailing and gnashing of teeth.  We're going from a strict co-pay based system to one where we have to upfront the complete cost of the office visit or prescription and then submit to get reimbursed.

But, as I keep telling myself, we're lucky to still have jobs!  And insurance at all!      :)

Finally I'm going to bed - it was so frustrating - somehow when I was doing the track titles I got off - had to completely reconfigure about four tracks in the first third of the CD - got those done and then I was somehow one number off and I could NOT figure it out - it turns out I'd put two tracks together on the edit list but NOT on the track title list - once I fixed that everything seemed to line up and match properly.  So, I've sent it off to the mastering guy and hopefully it will all make sense to him.  I'm sooo overtired and cranky right now.

Good Morning - I guess I talked too much yesterday because today I have a very sore throat.  On the bright side I slept straight through the night again.  What a difference that makes!

Tonight is parent/teacher conference night at the Vixter's high school.   You only get 5 minutes with each teacher (prescheduled time slots) and have to race around the school from classroom  to classroom.  So by time you get there you really have 3 minutes to talk

(this is the new a system put in place by the new principal)

Last year the way they did it was to have all the science teachers in one place all the history teachers in one place, etc etc and you would go and find your kid's teachers and you could talk as long as you liked as long as there was no one else waiting for that teacher

It was much more convenient and conducive to a real talk.  So of course the new guy had to change it just because he could.

oh well

Today I sent Vixdad to work with a lunch of roasted turkey breast, lettuce, tomato and mayo on whole wheat , seedless red grapes and homemade potato salad.  Yesterday afternoon I made the potato salad. (My first attempt to do so )

I am not a big fan of potato salad myself so I never made it before. Vixdad likes it quite a bit. I usually buy it for him at the deli counter but they were asking $3.00 a lb which seemed ridiculously high to me.  I already had the potatoes and onion in the house  so I figured what the heck let me give it a whirl.

I hope it tastes all right

The Vixter's lunch is deli ham sliced thin and rolled up, dill pickles and Ritz crackers.  She doesn't like sandwiches.  She also got a brownie for dessert.

Laura, it was very nice of the real estate lady to take you out to lunch.  What did you eat?  Did you have dessert?

The potato salad sounds great to me.

For lunch I will have leftover turkey chili and a salad with grape tomatoes, baby carrots and a splash of Eyetalian dressing. I will have a Bosc Pear or an apple (both purchased at the Union Square Greenmarket from Migliorelli Farms) after I eat my main course and salad. I will also drink a glass of

Celestial Seasonings Mandarin Orange Spice® Iced Tea

Now I'm hungry!

P.S. I changed the tea color from Orange to Maroon because Orange is too hard to read.

Your lunch sounds yummy - especially the tea!  What do you hear from Ant these days?

DR vixmom - thanks for asking.  I should have my car back in about 3 weeks.  The other guy's insurance is covering everything.  And my insurance is covering my rental in the meantime.  And I do not appear to be injured.  So all is well - very well.  :)

But of course, tonight is when the Publisher's Clearing House van will be pulling up to my front door with balloons and a huge check, so maybe I'll just buy a new car.     ;D

TOD:  I'd say that DR Michael S. has the beginnings of a very fine list of great singers.

To that list, I would humbly add DR elmore3003's close personal friend, Ron Raines.

Oh, and Jason Graae.

And Dawn Upshaw and Audra McDonald.

Very good news about your car - I thought the PCH van was scheduled to be on Long Island tonight though... I hope I haven't been practicing my "surprised face" for nothing

I hear from Anthony Morelli in

Fort Atkinson, WI

that they will be opening The Fantasticks tonight at

Fireside Dinner Theatre

I have already sent him a card and flowers should be delivered to the theatre sometime today or this evening (hopefully before the show starts).

Happy Birthday Priscilla (not ours but the other one in New York ;D)

Good morning, all! I have very little to report. Another package of work arrived yesterday so I'm going to be busy for a while. I had a very weird dream about calling 911 while my Dad worked on a house where most of the roof had either blown or burned away; it's too vague now. I've never dreamed about my Mother, that I can recall, in the past fifteen years since a dream about a month after she died.

Today, BABES edits and libretto, Frank Loesser, Jerome Moross, and a Ron Raines concert are all possible options. So I guess I need to tidy up and get to work.
