Good morning, all! More weird dreams: college, finding a college apartment in which my brother Randy was curiously visiting, not as he looked in 1968 but as he looks now, and other peculiar situations.

I've been thinking about DR Danise's situation. Doesn't she work for the state of Florida? Surely someone in her dept knows smeone in another dept. who knows someone in another till the situationreaches the correct person. Since I have no idea what's happening - whether he's taking his time to bilk her out of more funds or he's left the place a wreck - I can't help but think there are people she knows who may be able to provide help.

Today, more work at my desk after I clean up the dump for our DR Ben's visit.

TOD:
DVD: She Stoops to Conquer, those blasted Netflix items
CD: Sutton Foster's new disc, Offenbach, Liz Callaway, Guy Haines, Chad Mitchell Trio
    VCR:  Cheap porn

I suppose I should start thinking about getting dressed and ready to go to the swallowing and speech therapist.  My Daddy will be coming to pick me up in about an hour.

Hi everyone.  I'm here in the esteemed bk's So. Cal - Anaheim to be exact - attending the Religious Education Congress which I'm very excited about as I missed last year.  I'm hoping to be inspired.   I'm staying at the Desert Palm Inn and Suites.  It's a nice place but not nicely laid out.  I feel like a mouse looking for cheese have the time.  But, the location is good and I'm not paying for it, so I'm not complaining.  More later, everyone have a great day!

In my DVD burner are several DVDs that I burned from old VHS tapes of mine:

Camelot with Gabriel Byrne and Marin Mazzie...this isn't from an old VHS, but the PBS broadcast from last year.  Otherwise, the rest are from VHS tapes of mine that I rediscovered last weekend:

Play On! with the songs of Duke Ellington.  This production was filmed for PBS in 1999 at the Pasadena Playhouse.  The original Broadway cast recording was recorded by BK!  Tonya Pinkins was in the original Broadway cast.

Speaking of Tonya Pinkins, next will be Jammin': Jelly Roll Morton on Broadway, with Tonya and the late Gregory Hines.  This is the 1992 one hour PBS special (notice a trend here??) about the musical and the recording of the cast album to Jelly's Last Jam!

After that will be the PBS showing of Black and Blue from 1993.  This is the original Broadway production that was filmed by Robert Altman.  It has shots of backstage in between the numbers.  It's quite good.

Then..."Evening at Pops" with Bonnie Raitt & John Raitt and fiddler Mark O'Connor from 1992.  Again, from PBS!

And finally (and NOT from PBS!), my DVD burned from my purchased VHS tape of I Do! I Do! with Lee Remick and Hal Linden.  It's from 1982 and it still looks great!

That's what I have been and will be watching. ;D

PLAY ON was broadcast on PBS?  Odd, but I don't remember it at all.  I'll have to check my VHS collection.

I do remember the JELLY'S LAST JAM special.  I also remember being disappointed that the show never did do the live Pay Per View for Cable that was planned.

I'm about to get to work on converting all my VHS theatre-based tapes to DVD.  First project will be the PBS broadcast of A.R. Gurney's THE DINING ROOM.

I need to do that with my collection, too. But where to find the time? No way!

DR George, you're a glutton for punishment for burning that hideous CAMELOT to a DVD. Absolutely the worst I've ever seen Marin Mazzie, and almost every other casting and directing choice in the production was just so terrible. That is one production I NEVER want to see again.

Good morning!

For the third day in a row, the morning has been overcast, but it hasn't led to any rain yet. Supposedly, we're to get some tonight. We need it. We're already running more than two inches behind normal for the year.

DR Jane, thanks for the news about DR Danise. That is terrible.  Are we sure the guy is a creep? Is
there any chance that he just got in over his head?

i know we were all worried about something like this happening. But he did offer a lot of help in the beginning.  Is the house at all done? How much of the work did you do? And has he just left it unfinished?

Please let DR Danise know we are all thinking about her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I needed to finish that 82-minute documentary on the SOUTH PARK set this morning (I still had about 40 minutes to go). Once I finished it, I watched another episode on Peruvian Flute Players that ridiculed the movies QUARANTINE and CLOVERFIELD. It was a two-part episode, but I only watched part one this morning.

This afternoon, I'll watch part two of that story and then watch the remaining three episodes in the set. There is also one more bonus feature on the set. I have no idea how long it is.

Unless some new review material comes in today, I'll spend the weekend with that four movie Criterion set. I'll watch two movies a day in it so I can finish it up by Sunday night. It's one of their Eclipse releases so there are no bonus features. The movies are all short, so watching two a day should be no problem. I want to get it out of the way before that four film BATMAN set on Blu-ray arrives.

re: the joaquin phoenix thing

I remember hearing when it happened that perhaps he was just playing a joke on david letterman. Has it been confirmed that how he acted on the show was real and not a gag?

I am anxious to see tonight's Ghost Whisperer. From reading the description it looks like there will be something very interesting happening tonight.
