re: the joaquin phoenix thing

I remember hearing when it happened that perhaps he was just playing a joke on david letterman. Has it been confirmed that how he acted on the show was real and not a gag?

DR Jenn, there is talk that this is actually an elaborate hoax since evey move Phoenix makes is being filmed by Matt Damon.

I do feel that there's someone somewhere who can help Danise. Yes, these things are commonplace, but that doesn't mean there are no remedies.

I've had problems with MANY contractors. I find that most will succumb to pressure. Few people look forward to going to court. Unfortunately, many of us feel uncomfortable standing up for ourselves, but that's exactly what you have to do.

Someone here close to Danise should contact Vern Yip at HGTV..."Deserving Design"...and tell him of DR Danise's plight.  Perhaps he'll redo the badly done rooms in her house and make a show of it.

From what I can tell he is strictly a decorator.  First you need a completed house to decorate.

I've seen shows where he's gone into situations IDENTICAL to Danise's...someone got bilked by a construction guy and Vern had his folks finish it off AND furnish it!

I think in most cases, someone else has brought the plight of someone worthy to the show's attention.  Same with Home Makeover: Extreme Edition.   The latter show would be a good fit if they could "downsize" their aspirations to make each new episode about bigger homes.  Danise is as worthy as anyone.  Her "situation" ought to be made known to both shows.  Perhaps one of them will help out.

No!  Stay away from Extreme Makeover.  DR Danise will wind up with a McMansion and her property taxes will shoot up sky high!

I kind of like the pattern the quote boxes make where there are several of them.

Well this was just deeply disappointing.  My dad drove me to the therapist-  we got there 15 minutes early.

Signed in did all the new patient registration stuff and then sat in the waiting until 12 noon - for my 11 o'clock appointment.

I finally went up to the desk and said. "We have been waiting for an hour do you know how much longer it'll be?"

OOPS! The therapist forgot about me and went to lunch!

"Can you come back on Monday?"

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Not a very promising start I must say.

I'm having trouble finding the funny there - although it is a minor annoyance compared to what Danise is going through.

Richard and I went to Miami University last night to hear Bruce Chadwick talk about George and Martha Washington.

Pure gossip  :)

Did he talk about "Hump the Hostess"? - oh wait, wrong George and Martha

Well I didn;t know what the swallowing therapist was going to entail so I didn't eat before I went.   It is now nearly 2 and I have not eaten today so time to get a can in.

DR MBarnum, 20%-ouch.  At least your time at work is decreased with the salary.   Just think of all the extra long walks you and Bosco can take.

Any chance of staying with a friend in L. A. instead of a hotel?

I will likely stay at the Burbank Travelodge...just $63 a night.

It's simple -- Damon is the blonde one...the one who actually HAS acting talent.

Affleck is the dark-haired one with the hairpiece -- the one who is better "behind" the camera, more often than not.

The "funny" is apparent to me:  You now have something to greet this therapist with when you finally meet face-to-face.

As for "degree of annoyance" -- sorry, but health is EVERYthing and is ALL-important.

Well, The Enabler can sometimes work in mysterious and not at all obvious ways at times. ;)
