DR Michael S and bk - As DR DER BRUCER already pointed out, there is no way on the current board to have any newly uploaded avatars show up "large".

*And if you had read the various posts on this very subject by myself, DR Ben and DR DER BRUCER over the past couple of months, you would have already known that.  Just sayin'... ;)

It's hard to remember everything I have read and probably filed it away at that time as I did not want to put up an avatar at that time.

And the board clock is off my an hour. It didn't automatically change over

That's been discussed too. ;)

Yes I know at the end of yesterday's notes, but since I couldn't tell if the clock was off or not until I made my first post I thought I would continue the thread from yesterday in case other people did not read it.

I have some writing to attend to so let me hop off-line and do that now. Then, I'll head down and start on lunch.

I like DR MICHAEL S new avatar....now he is one of us tiny people.

RE: the cast album of ILLYA DARLING.....those last four tracks are NOT on my United Artists LP....the ones that someone said are on there.....otherwise the earlier numbers listed as not being on the album are correct.....but the order is somewhat different.

Thanks for the info. I will correct it in my book

Re: The Order of the Songs

That I believe was usually the norm in LP days. trying to get as many songs per side as possible even if it meant shifting things around.

Also according to IBDB the Sondheim song is listed in the song list for Illya Darling; as well as several reprises.

On the studio cast recording of Anything goes with Kim Criswell and Cris Groenendaal; there are several performers who used nom de plumes.

I know two of them. Does anyone know who the others were?

Judy Green........Judy Kaye
Michael B. Wailing.......Michael McGuire
Phil Ossafee

Sunday Morning had a nice profile and interview with Van Morrison.  I've always loved his music

People, like DR Cillaliz and I, who like Van Morrison and his music, should have no complaints about Pierce Brosnan's singing in MAMMA MIA!

Judy Green/Judy Kaye isn't exactly a nom-de-plume - she's married to David Green.

I'm up - had the time not changed I would have had plenty of time for the long jog - but if I don't get out of here in thirty minutes there won't be any way to do it, and I just don't think I'll be ready in thirty minutes.

I changed the microwave clock and the oven clock - the computer did it automatically - all that's left is the car clock.

Actually, I didn't complain about Pierce Brosnan's singing.  I'm of the opinon that some characters, like real people, don't have to have wonderful singing voices.

Is "snet" a real e-mail address?  I just approved a new dear reader, and there've been a couple of spam bot ones lately that I haven't approved.

So to avoid tax returns, i've been developing the "I'm Still Queer" song.  Normally, i just know inherently when something is parody of the actual song I'm parodying - but here, I'm wondering if I'm actually parodying "I'm Still Here" or just riffing on it such that I'd have to get permission to ever use it.

Football and hockey
I've played them all and my dear
I'm still queer
Rooted for Rocky
Clutching a burger and beer
But I'm queer

I've let my eyebrows
Go unchecked
Snoozed when the highbrows
Spoke of Brecht
Missed Lincoln Center's King Lear
But I'm queer

I sat through Shogun
Stood up and clapped at the end
But I’m queer
I like Seth Rogen
Though I mean just as a friend
But I’m queer

Read books by Bantam
Many times
I cheered at Phantom
Loved the rhymes
I couldn’t cotton to Peter Grimes or The Weir
And I walked out on Steel Pier
But I’m queer

Can’t talk about Audrey or Katharine Hepburn
Please, no one ask me again
When you can't talk Audrey or Katharine Hepburn
No one believes you love men

Never missed Dino
Never saw Beverly Sills
But I’m queer
I need a Beano
When the kids praise Peter Mills
But I’m queer

Some folk prefer a gay cliche
I can’t defer, that’s not my way
I don’t get Logo or Here
But I’m quee-eer

Lord knows, I loved Martin Guerre
And I’m queer
Look who’s queer
I’m still queer

DR Michael Shayne, I think your new avatar looks terrific despite its size.

I do too.  It is a shame we can't have the full size version.

Had a lovely day yesterday with my sister. We visited cousin Molly, hit some thrift shops, then headed to Tigard to Benny's 4th birthday party. Lots of rugrats.

Now to finish the absolutely wonderful Bollywood movie I started last night...APRADHI KAUN? (1957) starring my new favorite yesteryear actor Abhi Battacharya and a very young looking Mala Sinha.

It is a nifty old dark house murder mystery. My favorite kind of movie. And this one is very well done with lots of interesting characters. Of course Lily, the nightclub entertainer, is my favorite.

I told megan we could go to the library when it opens at 10am!

Btw, from watching the megan on American Idol i've noticed that Ryan and Kara both pronounce her name Meh-gan. Do most people in the US say it this way. Here we say it May-gan.

I think May-gan is more common.

The only clocks I needed to set were all in the kitchen--wall clock, microwave and cuckoo clock.  Everything else that I can think of resets itself.
